At disneyland, the railroad goes through like a prehistoric dinosaur tunnel or something after it swings around behind small world. Does the MK railroad do anything like that or is it mostly open air?

There is a small tunnel that you go through before arriving at the frontierland station that goes through Splash Mountain (you can see the Showboat with all the animatronics). There are no dioramas like on the Disneyland railroad.

Thanks -- that's the answer I was hoping for. I guess DL is short on space and couldn't help having a long tunnel -- and once they had a tunnel they needed something to do with it.

But, IMHO, railroad rides shouldn't be scary for some youngsters. Really seems unnecessary at DL.
