Ahhh, glad you asked! ;) We dined at RR during our trip last month-twice, in fact! The atmosphere, the food and the service all get :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 from us!
Our early dinner (5ish) and our late dinner (9ish) were two quite different experiences-yet both simply wonderful!! If you have any specific questions, ask away! I love talking about our new favorite dining spot!

WOW favorite dinning spot:)! That makes me fell so much better, you never know. We LOVE:love: Atmosphere! How is the atmosphere? I have two DS 12 and 6 and they love Irish dancing do they do any of that? Which time did you prefere?Ok last question what did you order?
Thanks Nettii:goodvibes

More on the atmosphere in a bit, yet here is what we ordered (from my "mini" review) :thumbsup2

Seared Scallops: Perfectly prepared with a wonderful sweet corn relish and candied lemon. Delish!
Goats Town: One of the most delicious dishes I have ever had! A wonderful goat cheese lightly seasoned & “fried” and served with grilled crostini, a raspberry compote and fresh raspberries. Simply perfect!
Dalkey Duo: It was served in a fun way-on top of forks sticking up from a wooden plate. Not only was it “fun,” it was also quite yummy and the mustard dipping sauce was perfect.

Serious sirloin steak: Grilled exactly the way I ordered it & glazed with a scrumptious Irish whiskey glaze and drizzled with a very light basil oil. Although it comes with “plain”mashed potatoes, the server happily let me replace them with colcannon, a delicious dish of mashed potatoes, sautéed onions, cabbage and bacon. YUMM!
Shepard’s Pie: RR twist is to make this with prime rib and lamb which sounded yummy! Yet this was the only dish I was disappointed in. It simply had no flavor and so I just nibbled a bit.
Paddy’s Pork: My DH enjoyed this so much that he ordered it both nights! It was the most flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth tender pork we had ever had! The sausage stuffing and the honey soy glaze were both fantastic yet not overwhelming. Wonderful!!
Salmon of Knowledge: I agreed with my DS-the best salmon we have ever had! And my son knows his salmon! He got the maple glaze on the side yet ended up loving it!
Fish & Chips: Nothing “fancy” yet cooked perfectly and served with a wonderful fresh tartar sauce.

Ger’s Bread & Butter Pudding: Oh, my! Heaven in a mug! In fact, it was sooo good that my DS and DH both ordered it again on our second night! The light warm custard and carmel sauces, served on the side for to die for. YUM!
Tiramisu Cheesecake: It was ok, a little dry yet then again I find most cheesecakes on the dry side.
Desset Sampler: Served in little espresso cups, there was a white chocolate mousse, a dark chocolate mousse and a Bailey’s Coffe Cream Pot-“Tiramisu with an Irish Twist.” My DH and DS patiently waited for me while I devoured evry last bite..
:rotfl:

And like your oldest DS, my DS was on the adult menu. Yet for your younger DS, the kid's menu sounds great at RR! :thumbsup2

Have you heard they are changing DDp ! No more appiesif the rumors are true nothing official just the "word" going around!I think I'll still get ddp anyway cos I like not having to worry about the food and Ido a lot of buffets too! I/m still waiting to hear if some one has tried the Lemon Sole at RR and I guess if I really want an appie I'll pay oop!!

I admit I was pregnant when we went so I won't say anything about my food. It was all decent enough for me, but nothing on that trip was totally tasteful ;) However everyone in the group I was with ordered different things and LOVED it all! The music was good and we were far enough away to enjoy it w/o it overshadowing. Great service as well!

Atmosphere? As I said, we ate there at two different times (5pm & 9 pm) and although they were different experiences, we all enjoyed them both-including our 10 yo son!

5 pm Dinner: Upbeat yet very relaxing at the same time! Never felt rushed in any way what-so-ever. There is a "Balloon Guy" who comes around. He made my son the coolest balloon "animal"- Mickey Mouse on a motorcycle! :cool1: He was wonderful and we enjoyed chatting with him for quite some time-and he then made me and my DH little gifts of our own. ;) Balloon guys in a sit down restaurant? Yeah, it may sound "tacky." But believe me, it was quite tastefully done!

9 pm Dinner: Again, the food, service & atmosphere were wonderful! The Irish Band began playing about 9ish. Just set a fabulous mood throughout the place! And every so often, there is also an Irish Dancer who gets up on a small "stage" and does traditional dancing. Like I said, the mood of the place was fabulous!
Although very diffeent experiences, I would do either again in a heart beat. :cool1:

Raglan Road is e-mazing...try the smoked salmon appetizer...the best ever! :thumbsup2

The Irish band and step dancer are there Mon-Sat from 9pm-2am. On Sunday, there is a different musician whom I have not seen yet, but the band is the way to go your first time. There is seating in side rooms off of the main dining room where you can't see the band and can hardly make out the dancer. These rooms are much quieter if that is the kind of dinner you want. If you are in the main dining area, it is quite loud but IMHO the best seat in the house! If you do choose to be in a quieter section, the waitstaff does let you get up and walk to the center if you want to catch Danielle (the dancer)

Well being Irish I was a bit doubtful about how "genuine" the Raglan Road would be so we stayed away from it until the end of our trip last year. What a bad move on our part!
The food was simply heavenly - here's a tip, when they bring out the brown bread with the guinness dip, ask to exchange it for real Irish Butter. It's Kerrygold which is proper way to eat brown bread and a real taste of home if you're in Disney for more than 2 weeks.
We went twice in the space of 2 days and were, lets face it, a little bit rowdy as it was the end of the honeymoon so we sang along with the band (loudly). For a midweek night we were the only irish there and became a bit of a novelty, so when we came back the second time we got the best seats in the house and the band played our pick of ballads.
I'm getting all teary eyed here with only 15 days to go to our next trip! :D
Enjoy!

We plan to go to Raglan Road on our trip in November. Do you need to make reservations here or can you walk in and get a table? If I need to make reservations can I do so through WDW DINE ???

Well midweek we had no difficulty getting a table although you could either reserve in advance or take a bleeper if you're wandering around DTD.
It also depends on whether you have a specific area you want to sit in though as the outside veranda was very popular. It was also the only place we found Bulmers (Magners) Cider in Orlando.
If you have your heart set on a particular table I'd book to be sure of getting your spot.

I'm heartbroken...I just checked my adr's and yep...I've booked in on a Sunday night. There's no changing it now. Can anyone comment on the musician??? Rats!

Do you have to pay for admission into Pleasure Island to eat @ RR?

Nope, it's just outside the limits of Pleasure Island....
There is no charge to walk through PI anyway. You only get charged if you go into a club... so not an issue either way.
