What is the atmosphere like? Do they play Irish music? What is the food like? The menu looks good :goodvibes

I was impressed by the looks, atmosphere and the live music but I thought it was sadly lacking the actual irish pub area. The food, athough expensive, was not the caliber I thought it should be. My wife actually got sick after eating there and we had to cut our night short because of it. Maybe in the future I will give it another try (probably by myself) but my high hopes I had reading about it were near as high after walking back out the door after our meal. Overall it had much less of the "homey" irish feel and too much like "yuppie" feel. So flame away all you Raglan Road lovers, Ive said my peace.

pssst....buddy. Interested in buying a nomex suit...? :)

We like RR, but we also have to agree with you about the feel of the place. While the owners tried to replicate the feeling when you enter, say, Tim Richardson's on Galway Square, something is lost when trying to accomodate a lot of folks. It can hold a ton of people, and I guess the ambiance suffers a little.

I loved the place when we went in March, but that being said some of the food wasn't authentic Irish, but was prepared very well anyway. It does loose some of the small pub feeling due to the size, but we had a great time anyway. I was very impressed when my dh ordered a meal that had onions in it which he hates and they came took it away. Within five minutes later, they had brought him something else with no charge. The music was really good, but a little loud if your sitting close to the stage. I would try it at least once and certainly better than a few other places at dtd I can think of.

I knew I would get the info I needed.

Sounds like we will have to include RR on your upcoming Jan. trip. My maiden name was O'Keefe, but hubby somehow thinks he is the Irish one in the family:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
