Hi everyone. I was just curious to know if Ragland Rd. is the kind of place you can go and get a seat at the bar or a table without reservations late night around 10:30-11:00pm. We will be driving up to Disney on Friday the 29th and will arrive at Coronado Springs at approx. 9:30pm. We plan on checking in and and then I have a night out in Downtown Disney planned for us specifically Ragland Rd.

Can we just hop on a bus and scoot over there and find a place to sit or would it be better to make an ADR for around 10:30pm. We probably won't be interested in having a meal maybe some lite snacks or appetizers but we want to have some drinks and enjoy the live music and we don't want to be stuck standing.

What are your thoughts? I feel bad about making an ADR and not really ordering food....

Anything in DTD does tend to get busy on the weekend nights, since locals use it as well.

We got to Raglan Road on Wednesday evening around 8:00 pm and there were plenty of seats at the bar. We got there the next night for our dining ressie at 6:40 pm, and when we got done eating around 8:00 pm, the bar was beginning to fill up and we couldn't find three seats together.

I would guess by Friday, it will get a bit busier, but die down as the evening wears on. They do have a back bar, that has a better view of the stage and though it wasn't open Wednesday/Thursday night, I would bet it is open on the weekends. They also have outside tables as well, which helps with the overflow.

I would give it a try - oh, and the munchies are very good. I have to say, we actually enjoyed our Wednesday evening munchies than the Thursday night dinner. They have a munchie menu with starters for one or two people. There was a huge platter for two, but we easily shared it among the three of us and it was awesome!

Thanks for the info that helped alot. One question when you did go in for dinner Thursday when you were done with your meals did they ask you to leave the table and find a spot at the bar?

I used to work in the service industry for years and I hated it when people "parked" at my table but we would of coarse compensate the server with a great tip plus we are planning on running up a nice bar tab and now Im deffinately going to get some of those munchies you mentioned. :)

We were there a few weeks ago, during the so-called slowest time of the year. It was definitely slow, but you wouldn't know it from the amount of people in Raglan Road on Friday night. We got there around 9:30 and we were lucky to snag a booth inside the bar area. There were four of us, and we would have been stuck standing for at least an hour if it wasn't for some timely luck.

I love the place, and I love the live entertainment on Friday nights, but it can get pretty hectic in there. Also, you should know, if you're planning on making a grand late night of it, they close at 1:00 AM and last call is a half-hour before that. After that, the only thing open in all of DTD is a cigar bar next door to Raglan Road that is actually pretty seedy looking, inside and out (not to mention smoky and smelly, of course). I wouldn't recommend that place at all.

Thanks for that info Pugmalion1, after reading it I went ahead and made an ADR for 10:30pm. That way I know we'll have a place to sit and the weather has been chilly so I dont want to be stuck outside. I'm thinking we should head back to CSR before 1am since I want to check out Rix Lounge too. Again thanks for the info it really made my mind up for me !!! :thumbsup2

We have been to Raglan Rd many times and the bar always fills up around 8:30 pm and later. You might want to try Paradiso 37 if you find Raglan Rd. too busy. They have live music too and have been less crowded some nights. Either way, I would stop by and give it a try :)

Just got back and wanted to update. We went to Ragland Rd. Friday night the 29th of Jan. we being my friend and I were about 10 minutes late for our reservation due to some delays finding CSR to check in (Mapquest Stinks BTW!!!!) From CSR we waited for the bus and it was only a 15 minute wait. We got off at the Pleasure Island stop and RR was right there. Super easy. It was about 10:40pm when I walked up to the hostess. I told her I was a little late but had reservations for 10:30pm she said are you Stephanie? Why yes I am... so I guess I was one of the only reservations at that time since she knew my name without even looking at anything. We were seated right away and there were plenty of open tables all around as well as room at both bars and also the rail seats that are right behind the tables. Kinda like bar seats but they face the stage. Also lots of outdoor seating was available at both outside bars.
Our server did a fantastic job, we each shared the sheppards pie which was the best shepards pie I have ever tasted and we had a bunch of drinks Irish Carbombs, Harps, and Bodingtons.
There was a great Irish clogger named Danielle and every 15 minutes she would hop up on a circular wooden platform that was in the middle of the main room and she wood dance. I believe they had mics installed under the boards because her clogging was being amplified over the speakers along with the band. The band was great they played lots of traditional Irish folk music but also did some U2 songs and other Irish rock band songs like "I would walk 500 miles". We stayed until midnight and it was a little less crowded by that point but it still had a a good amount of patrons. This place was a blast!!!!
