Raglan Road

We've eaten at Raglan Road twice and have had wonderful experiences there. The portions we had were actually quite large and we enjoyed the band tremendously - they sing traditional Irish folk songs and have a couple of fiddle players. No bagpipes - thank god. ;)

Well, I will be the only one in our group NOT disappointed that there are no bag pipes! And thanks for the heads-up on the Irish music. Not that I expected reggae or country music at a place called Raglan Road, but not all restaurnts have dinner music.

Wow, the reviews for this place sure are mixed!!! However, the picture of the BEER FLIGHT really sold me:drinking1 and I just made a reservation for April.

I went back and forth about this place due to the reviews. In the end we went to Raglan Road as I wanted to be at PI. It was our 1 night without the kids. It was great. Service and food were excellent. Probably my favorite dinner there. A nice meal, no kids, nice wine and guiness for my DH. The bread pudding was the best I have ever had!

Food pretty good, service fine, Irish dancer very fun to watch (and we had a table nearby and could see her great). The problem -- music was three times as loud as it ought to be. Is all of America deaf or something? We will not go back.

Our experience on Christmas Day:

Food -- good
Portion size -- average
Service -- fair
Wait time -- UNACCEPTABLE (over two hours with an ADR)

I don't think there's any way I would get my DH to return. We all enjoyed the food and the band, but we also were starved since I had had everyone eating light for lunch b/c of our 5:20 ADR. When we got our food about 8 p.m., we were beyond ready to eat!

It would be a little hard for us to fairly judge the dancer since she was the hostess who was putting us and other upset guests with ADRs off during the long wait. She chastised my DH for checking in late when he asked how much longer it was going to be, which had something to do with the line of 50 people he had to wait in just to check in.

Sorry to hear you had a negative experience, especially on Christmas Day! Thanks for your post.

Dec. '07 with DD(26) we enjoyed the beer flight, a wonderful appetizer which
was breaded sausages brought on forks, sheppard's pie, a wonderful lobster
sandwich, the egg salad "side", a delicious potatoe "side".......ummmm......
I think that was it and it was all WONDERFUL. We were there at around 3:00
in the P.M. so it was very empty and relaxing.

Good beer. Lots of ordinary "Pub-Grub" (Fish and Chips, etc). I thought the portions were very small. Bangers and mash were pretty good. Bread Pudding is the best thing on the menu. The inside has several areas where you cannot see the band or the dancer. It's certainly not on our "must do" list---.

We were there (6 of us) Dec. 28th for lunch. Food was very good, but Fish & Chips came with only 1 fish. Service was horrible and the place was practically empty. But this is why we won't go back-apparently when there are 6 or more people, you are charged 18% gratuity. Every Disney restaurant we had been to that past week all said "18% with 8 or more people" so I never even bothered to look. The service had been so slow that we never even looked at the check, just gave her our credit card, hoping to speed things up. My DH proceeds to leave a 15% tip (on top of the 18% tip). Fortunately, I was able to make a phone call and have the !8% tip removed. I just think the 18% policy with only 6 people should have been pointed out to us. And, yes, I do know that RR is not a Disney restaurant. Just want you to be aware of the 18% policy.

We've been going to make ADR'S here and just haven't done it yet. We are definately going to try it at least once.

Thanks for letting me know about the 18% policy because there will be 6 in our party as well.

Are all of the restaurants in DTD non-Disney restaurants?

Just ate there for the first time last week. The band starts at 9pm so is easy to avoid. I had the Paddys Pork which was delish as was Ger's Bread pudding the 2 sauces it comes with were wonderful. It is a huge serving and as good as it was I couldn't finish it. I would definately go again !! Oh and the service was excellent and food came fast!!

We went in January and it was the best meal of our whole trip! We had great food and great service :)

I had a wonderful dinner here! The only bad thing was this tasteless leek soup, but it was probably just because I ordered wrong. I also had Shepherds Pie which was delicious! I reviewed it in my dining reviews, there's a link in my signature.

Well I for one am looking forward to going there in April on our first night at Disney! I am really liking the look of the beer and whiskey flight. Thank goodness I will be staying at SSR so I can stagger back along the path lol. :rotfl: Are those things expensive??:thumbsup2
