:wave2: :wave2: What was your experience like at Raglan Road? We've never been there and would like to find out more about it first. Thanks.

I was there in 10/06 with six people on the dining plan. Everything was wonderful. I can only remember what I had-goat cheese appie, sheppards pie and the bread pudding. I must say it was the best bread pudding I've ever had (the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse bread pudding I had 2 weeks ago couldn't come close) I do remember that everyone enjoyed the meal and would go back.
Hopes this helps.:thumbsup2

My husband and I loved it. Ate here in October. Service and food was great!
Enjoy!!!

Kabuki,
What was the atmosphere like? I must admit, bag pipes don't appeal to me. Someone said it was "Real Irish" whatever that means.

At night they have a Celtic band. You can avoid that! We did and my husband is Irish so we are right with you! :thumbsup2 We had lunch for the meal and have been for drinks and apps a few times. There is a web sight for Raglan Road and I did a pic report a bite back I will try and find the linkl to for you so you can see. It was fun but you don't have to get your kilt on if you know what I mean!;)

Thank you so much for the info and for finding the link. I'll be passing it on to other family members who will be dining there. I know they'll get a kick out of it because the in-laws are part Irish.

We were there in Oct for lunch and I had the best burger I have ever had. And the bread pudding was unbelievable!!

We went in September '07 and we absolutely loved this place. In fact it is the only place we are returning to when we head back to the World this spring! The Dalkey sausages are to die for and the Chowder was wonderful. This time I am going to make the time for a beer flight and try Ger's bread and Butter pudding. I can't wait and it is still 3 1/2 months away!! You can read more and see pictures if you click on the link to my dining review in my signature.

Have fun!

For us it was probably the worst dining experience on our 10 day stay. The food was average and the portions minute, the service was dire and the server rude. The air con wasnt working and we were roasted alive. As for the entertainment, the singer was on a loop and sounded like a wailing banshee. :scared1: Seriously, it was a miserable, miserable experience and Im not sure we will ever go back.

Not sure about the above poster... but portions minute? My seared beef salad alone could have fed two people.

We decided to go last minute. I needlessly called Disney dining from my cell whlie waiting for the bus. We could have walked in.

We had a lunch that lasted way tooooo long, but that's our particular server's issue. However the food was amazing!

We truly enjoyed it.

We also enjoyed the desserts. The quality was outstanding and the variety was great. For now, it's a quiet unsung adr hero.:thumbsup2

We've eaten at Raglan Road twice and have had wonderful experiences there. The portions we had were actually quite large and we enjoyed the band tremendously - they sing traditional Irish folk songs and have a couple of fiddle players. No bagpipes - thank god. ;)

They were absolutely minute and I am from Ireland and know Irish food. I have always been very impressed by the food and service we have experienced in American restaurants but Raglan Road was the exception. In August 2006, this is how the fish and chips were served. The food took up 1/4 of the plate and my daughter who has a tiny appetite was so hungry when she had finished

This was the beef stew that my DS ordered (along with the 8 beans).

It had 2 pieces of potato and the Irish style crock it was served in was only slightly bigger than the glass! This was as close up a photo as I could get so maybe it looks big - It was minute, I can tell you! Hopefully things have changed since then, and I think they have - I have seen some recent photos of food which look much better, but I can tell you in Aug 2006 our portions were tiny. On another site I belong to there were similar complaints. I realise everyones experiences are different. I am just telling it as it was for us. :)

Thanks for the photos. Maybe they're portion sizes you'd get in Ireland? I have a small appetite, but I could probably finish what was on that plate! Sorry you had such a negative experience. We're probably going to give it a try.

We went this past November and had awful service.....tastless Shepards Pie and no where close to being fresh scallops. Won't ever go back.

A friend and I went during our last trip in August and really enjoyed it. It was one of our favorite choices that week, and we ate at a lot of nice places that trip (Boma, Citricos, Brown Derby, Le Cellier...). The food was great, and we didn't have the portion size problem Maggs did. The service was fairly good, though not as fabulous as we had at some of the signature dining we did that week. That's probably to be expected though, as it was a lot more crowded and it's just not as fancy of a restaurant. There was nothing about our waitress that we could complain about, you could just tell she was busy busy busy and might have been feeling a little overwhelmed. We found the restaurant to be a really attractive space with good ambiance, though we were there during the entertainment and it was LOUD. We found the musician (a guy that sang and played several instruments) to be pretty entertaining though so we didn't really mind. It's just something to keep in mind if noise bothers you. It was even a bit noisy before the musician came on, I think that's just the acoustics of the space.

We also found the prices to be pretty decent. It wasn't cheap by standards we'd have if we were eating out back home, but they were fair for what we got and for being on Disney property. I think we got out of there with about $30-$40 a person, which isn't too bad considering we both had multiple drinks over the course of dinner. My friend and I are planning on going back to WDW this fall for F&W and we'd consider making ADRs here again.

Oh and if it makes a difference, I had the Serious Sirloin (a steak I found to be better than the barbecued filet I had at Le Cellier, and I'm not one of those who has had a bad Le Cellier experience) and the Bailey's Creme Brule. Sarah had the rack of lamb with some sort of wine sauce, which I think was one of their daily specials at the time, and the bread pudding. No appetizers, but we both enjoyed the soda bread they have. We thought this place would be fun to either have a full meal at or to go to for drinks.

I thought you might like to see some additional pictures from Raglan Road - I hope you don't mind my posting them here.
