Hi

I have read a little about the Raglan Road restaurant.
Thinking maybe this is worth a try.
What is the food like?
Am I right in thinking that this is at Downtown disney, what is the exact location of the restaurant?
Can anyone recommend this restaurant?

Have a great day and remember the magic:wizard:

I've not eaten there; just visited the gift shop. But it is nearly always crowded with patrons so they must be doing something right.

Raglan Road is located on Pleasure Island, directly at the front entrance to the island from the front parking lot. (Lots E / F / G) You can't miss it. Pleasure Island admission ticket not needed.

The food is over-priced, without a doubt. We've eaten there twice. The first time I had the shepherd's pie. The "contemporary twist" they describe is simply that it's presented in a bowl in a cylindrical tower shape. I found it very bland - I should give them my recipe! :teeth: I don't remember what I had last time we ate there. If you read the reviews on the Restaurants forum, I think you'll find I'm in a minority - most people rave about the food. The bread and butter pudding, though, does live up to the hype.

The restaurant itself, in common with many of those at WDW, is a huge vacuous space, despite being split into four different areas. For this reason, I'd recommend going later in the evening - the atmosphere is better when it's busier and I think I'm right in saying the entertainment doesn't start until 9pm (they have a band and an Irish dancer). The neat part is that all the fittings, including the bars, were sourced from bars and pubs in Ireland.

All this said, I do like Raglan Road and we'll be visiting again in August.

ETA: Here is a link to the menu and photos.

We ate here last trip and really liked it. The place had a really nice atmosphere and the food was pretty nice. I had fish and chips and DH had irish stew. There was a live band in the evening too :)

I have to agree about the Shepherds Pie, it was quite bland, however the Bread and Butter pudding in my opinion, is out of this world. We will be going back in December but avoiding the Shepherds Pie !

Thanks for your replies. :thumbsup2 We will definetly give it a go on our next trip. 49 days to go cant wait.:cool1:

We ate there in May this year. The food was great. I had posh chicken and DH had the bangers and mash. It was really lovely. We didn't have starters or desserts but I did have a couple of yummy cocktails.

We opted to sit out in the patio area so we could hear the music from PI. We waited about 20 minutes, but could have had an indoor table straight away. Service was slow but we didn't mind as we like to listen to the music and people watch.

Hiya
We went in Jan and had a fab night, the food was lovely, not great but not rubbish, it was nice. Also great cause we could drink stella and cider, the band was really good, with a bit of an iffy irish dancer, but the hihglight was the free famous grouse whiskey tasting which was great:cool1: got a free t shirt glass etc, and got to taste some lovely aged whiskey. I would definatly recommend this as a good adultish evening night out

Another fan of the bread and butter pudding here :thumbsup2

However, we were disappointed because we were not in the main dining room, so although we could hear the entertainment, we couldn't see it and didn't feel part of it. I would go again, but only if I was seated in the large room - I think the atmosphere here is very different to the side room where we were seated.

Sure some people might prefer the quieter parts of the restaurant though, but is worth considering if the entertainment is important to you.

We ate there in June & really enjoyed it. We had pate for 2, dh had lemon sole & I had shepherds pie & bread & butter pudding. All were really good. DS9 had fish & chips. Good atmosphere and service, although we did feel a bit rushed when the main course arrived before we had finished the starter.

I just made a very last minute reservation for Raglan Road. Since every other place was pretty much booked unless you wanted to eat at 9:30pm. (Not too good for little ones!) I am happy to hear some reviews. I was eyeing up that bread and butter dessert...can't wait!

Hi We ate at Raglan Road August last year and found the food to be really nice, it was quiet loud with the music so if your wanting a romantic meal then Raglan Road isnt the place.
