I've heard good things about this restaurant on these boards and was wonderign if they are open for lunch. I checked out Allearsnet.com and they only show a dinner menu. I'm just looking for a light lunch this coming Saturday and am wondering if they are open for that around 12-1 pm.

Thanks :)

When I was there Jan. 23rd, the earliest was 3:00 p.m. Definitely worth a visit. The Scallop appetizer is wonderful. The bread pudding dessert is worth a trip just for the dessert!! :goodvibes

Bummer. Unfortunately, this Saturday is the only day I have to visit DTD and I have resrevations at Jiko that evening, so if I can't visit for lunch then it's a no-go. :( oh well. So, not even the bar is open earlier? I would be happy with drinks and appetizers only, no full-fledged lunch. I understand Raglan to be an irish pub, is this correct? Or is it more a restaurant?

Thanks

Hi, I can only speak from pictures I've seen, I'll let you know after my 3:00 res. on May 3rd, but it appears to have the ambiance (sp?) of a pub but is more restaurant. I'm jealous, only 3 more days for you Yeah! Have a great time.

Have a magical day,
Anna

Yes it is an Irish Pub (beautiful) and a restaurant..all rolled into one.

3:00pm is the opening time, they won't even let you near the place before then. Really a shame, as they could be really busy for lunch since every one seems to love the food and atmosphere so much, us included.

What do you mean by "they won't even let you near the place before then"? Is DTD not open before 3 PM? Or is the restaurant in an area that is cordoned off before then? I've never been to DTD and we're wrestling with whether to spend our first afternoon at DTD or just staying around the lodge (AKL) and getting familiar with it and enjoying the sites there. So, if DTD is closed until 3 or some such thing is going on that would hamper our enjoyment iof DTD, then I'd just as soon stay at the lodge for the afternoon (waiting for ME to deliver our bags :)

The last couple times we went there they had it roped off with castmembers standing at the ropes..they won't even let you into Pleasure Island until 3pm. Don't know what is up with that, as you used to be able to walk through all times of the day.

Downtown Disney is open all day, but Pleasure Island opens at 3 PM. Before 3, Pleasure Island is roped off. Access to Raglan Road is via Pleasure Island. Don't worry, all the shops etc. at DTD will be open if you go earlier than 3.

Thanks! That was what I needed to know!

Also, does anyone know the tax rate for restaurants in the world?

Not true - we were there recently and were able to get to the restaurant via DTD. We walked into the shop attached (little irish souvenir shop) and the restaurant entrance was open with employees walking about getting ready for the evening. It 1pm and we were hoping for lunch. We chatted with the staff (very friendly btw) and were told they were hoping to open for lunch starting sometime in the spring. We ended up next door at Cooke's for fish and chips that day and went back to RR for dinner that night. We never went to PI as we were with our kids. I thought only the clubs were considered PI? You can certainly walk through everything else during the day - most are closed, but you can look through without PI admission.
