Just back from a quick 5 day trip (conference, really) where we stayed across the street from Downtown Disney. I rarely see reviews for the above restaurants, so thought I'd let you know our opinion.

Cap'n Jack - walked in with no reservation and no wait on a Friday at 2pm. Had the strawberry margarita, very yummy and big! Loved the blue crab open-faced hot sandwich. It was served on focaccia bread with tomato and and melted cheese. It was perfect. Also served with coleslaw which I wasn't thrilled with. DH had chicken breast Cesar salad. The chicken breast was awful, almost like it had been poached, but had no flavour. The salad was good, but not something I would have ordered. Service was friendly and fast, but it really wasn't busy.

Will continue with the other 2 restaurants later.

House of Blues - this was a really fun restaurant! We walked in with no reservation, and was seated immediately at about 7pm on a Sunday. DH and I split the calamari appetizer, and were we glad we ordered only one appetizer! It was huge, with really tender calamari(no chewy bits at all!) in a great, slightly spicy red sauce. I'm not a huge fan of calamari, but this was incredible! DH ordered the 14oz rib eye with garlic sauce, and I tried some. Again it was fabulous, and way, way too big! Mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini and peppers were served with it. The steak was cooked exactly the way he liked it, and he was disappointed he couldn't finish it all. I had the jumbalaya. It had chicken, shrimp and spicy sausage, all mixed with tomato rice. It was really, really good, except for the shrimp. The texture of the shrimp was kinda mushy, but the whole dish had quite a spice to it. I absolutely loved this restaurant, and only wished the dishes were smaller, so that we could have tried different things.

We LOVE HoB! Cannot wait to hear about RR, we are trying if for the first time next week

We were a party of four adults, who ate here on Columbus Day. We had reservations for 2 at 6pm, then changed it the same day for 4 people. It was pouring rain from 5:30-6:30pm, so we didn't make our reservation until closer to 7pm. We walked in with no problems what so ever, and was seated within a few minutes. We had two vegetarians in our party. They had the Goats Town, and Portobello Beauty. They said both were really good, and to a non-vegetarian, I must say they looked really good too! DH had the fish and chips, and I had a few bites of the fish which was big, and covered in a light crispy batter, not greasy at all. I had It's Not Bleedin' Chowder, their seafood chowder. It was quite salty, but amazing all the same. DH ate my scallops, and there was salmon, mussels and prawns. I HATE mussels, but these mussels were incredible! They were so tender, I've never had anything like it before, and I spent 2 weeks eating on the East coast in Canada last summer!! The potato is in ribbons, which was a nice change from chunks of potato. This was probably our best deal meal, because we've now learned that portions are huge, and we don't need appetizers or desert, and I wouldn't let DH eat after 2pm so that we could eat everything we ordered! However, we did go to Ghirardelli's for some desert:rolleyes:

Couldn't agree more. We always include HoB during our visits. One of the better meals we have during a WDW visit. They do server large portions and I always eat too much. Their ribs are great too.

We LOVED  Raglan Road & plan on stopping in on everytrip. I also had the It's Not Bleedin' Chowder & still crave it. Mine wasn't salty though, except maybe the smokiness from the salmon. It's funny, because I HATE fish but like shellfish. I ate every bit of the chowder including the smoked salmon. MMMMM.....

Yum, the chowder sounds good. Now I wish I had gone with that instead of the ham. Maybe I'll have to put Raglan Road back on the restaurant list and give it another try next time I visit. Thanks for the reviews!

Thanks for the terrific review. We like Raglan Road so much that we ate there twice on our just compleated trip. I had the Sheppard's pie and Fish & chips on my two visits and they were both excellent. We walked in both times at around 7 o'clock and had no trouble getting a table.

LOVE the Sheperd's Pie and Daltrey Duo at RR. It's one of my new favorite places.:thumbsup2

I was actually happy to see the ham back on the menu - it was the first entree I tried there, and even though it _looked_ dry, it was delicious. When we went last December it wasn't on the menu any more.

We didn't get to eat there this past trip, but I plan on checking out more in April - perhaps the shepherd's pie.
