Raglan Road Apps

I have read some posts that people on dxdp could order apps for 2 if both used it and some say no.

What has been your experience and if no what apps are for 1 at dinner that are any good. We like apps and if this is going to be an issue we will go somewhere else.

There's no hard and fast rule, unfortunately. I've seen (and for the most part experienced) everything from "apps for 2 not allowed" to "apps for 2 use 2 diner's entitlements" to "apps for 2 allowed for single diner".

It comes down to location, date, and server, for the most part, so someone else's experience at a particular location may not be the same as what you experience.

we have been to Raglan Road twice, including 2/2011, and both times we ordered the "for 2" app for 2 people on the dining plan...no problem. It does count as both person's appetizer, or course.

We love the Dalky Duo...but it's huge amount of food, even for 2 people (it's the batter-dipped sausages with mustard dip)

We have also ordered "for 2 apps" at Mama Melrose many times (calamari, yum)...and at Via Napoli...and at Captain's Grill...and at Olivia's...

We've ordered "for 2" dessert at Grand Floridian Cafe (the sampler, yum)...and "for 2" entree platter from La Hacienda.

Raglan Road is the only place we've been told that "for 2" apps can't be ordered on the plan at all. It was really disappointing because I'd read recent reviews that it was allowed but our waiter was firm that they are not eligible at all.

I wasn't all that impressed with either of the solo apps we got - one was grilled scallops over a mint-pea puree and the other was the drunken chicken - but I think that is largely because I loved the scallop forest so much on our first visit there and was really looking forward to that specific item. Next time I know to book it for lunch rather than dinner because at lunch the apps are solo-sized.
