Thanks much!!!

A fellow cruiser on our cruise in August posted that the Radisson was taking ressies for their shuttle over the phone. We called about a week or two ahead of time and made a ressie for the first shuttle leaving the Radisson on our sail away day. We had a ressie for the 10:20 shuttle, but we actually left the Radisson at 10:10 and was second in line at the terminal.

I want to be first!:yo-yo: We got our shuttle for 10:30 - which was the earliest he had available.

Thanks Verandah Man:wave2: :wave2:

When I called, they did not offer to take our reservation over the phone... But, when I asked, explaining that I had heard online that we could possibly schedule before we actually check in... The young lady was happy to put our name down...

I think that official policy may still be "reserve upon check-in". But I feel like the Radisson is very aware of the DIS (and other online PR). I would call a few days in advance to make reservations.... I would hate to try to reserve like 30-days in advance, only to find out that in that length of time, my reservation was lost or disappeared!

The Radisson has added shuttle vans/buses.... There seemed to always be several new white clean comfortable vans coming or going. We did not have to wait either way! We had a positive experience with our stay at the Radisson. We had a King Suite which was very nice.

PS: our drivers were friendly, quick, and efficient, eager to load our luggage and get us to the port and back. There is a bin for tips! ;) ;)

I just called last night - after I got the info from Verandah Man! We're leaving on the Wonder in a week...I certainly will be verifying this when we check in.

Hope you have a great cruise!

I didn't know one could sign up for shuttle prior to checking in. Last week I was quite shocked to find out that the earliest shuttle available was for 2:30!!! While having no desire to be there early, we didn't want to arrive so late. We drove and parked at the port and paid the 70 bucks.

While I would definitely drive and park at the port again (there were tons of people waiting in line at the Radisson for the shuttles), I would wait to arrive later. On Cruise #1, we arrived via Disney shuttle from WDW and arrived sometime around 1:30 or so and basically walked right on board. On Cruise #2, we arrived via Disney shuttle from airport at around 3 p.m. or so and walked right on board again. For this Cruise #3, we arrived the day prior, stayed at the Radisson and drove to port at around 10:30-11 and waited FOREVER to board!!!

Next time, we will again arrive a day early, however, I probably would not stay at the Radisson again. I would spend Saturday morning enjoying the pool at whatever hotel we were at and then drive to port arriving sometime between 1:30 and 2.

Did you have a negative experience at the Radisson? What went wrong? Where will you stay next time?

We're scheduled to stay at the Radisson. I'm concerned that you wouldn't stay there again.

Please explain.

Thanks.

Oh no! The Radisson was great except for the shuttle experience. We picked the Radisson for two reasons: An early DIS meet and use of their shuttle.

By the time we arrived for the DIS meet, many had been there and gone. HOWEVER, one did get up OUT OF BED just to come and see us. (Love ya Ave! It was SO nice of you to do that for us.) And then, of course, we were hungry and we had to leave the few that were at the meet so we could get something to eat. But when we returned, several were still at the pool and we got to chat for a while before turning in.

The shuttle thing had me a little annoyed. We expected to save money by using it and obviously did not do same. I don't know where we will stay next time (September 2004!). Maybe we will stay at the Radisson again and take that later shuttle after all. But I liked the idea of just leaving the ship and going right to our car and not having to wait with a lot of people to go on a shuttle.

The Radisson has a gorgeous pool and hot tub, which we should have taken advantage of on Saturday morning but didn't. The room was large, spacious and gorgeous. No continental breakfast, however, as in other hotels. And no view of the Magic from the hotel, which I thought we would have. The staff at the Radisson were very nice also.

Please, don't be concerned because of what I said. I think with me it is more of a 'been there, done that' type of thing and will opt for something different next time. Need to research that area but, heck, I have 11 months!

::yes:: My Aunt Kim just called the Radisson and made our reservation for 11 on a 10:30 shuttle to the port.pirate: I am glad we found out we could do this ahead of time. Makes that one less thing to do. Although we too will double check when we check in on Sat.

What time will you get into town Sat??? We hope to be there by 1:00 so we can swim before heading to Grills for dinner?:teeth:

So far the weather looks warm and :sunny: with a slight chance for a shower. NO RAIN ALLOWED!

It is almost here......

We stayed at the Radisson last year and had no problem getting a shuttle to the port and we where about the 7 th family in line. I love getting on early and hitting the buffet!!!;)
