It was a hotwire win, so I'm stuck with it, but does anyone have any pointers? Especially restaurant recommendations? I got a good price, and it looks nice, but I know nothing about it.:beach:

We have stayed there many times over the years and have enjoyed it. It's really close to the parks if you have a car, and we LOVE the beds (super comfortable with down blankets and duvet covers), the in-room safes (they're BIG - you can stick your whole purse in there and then some), free fridge, and their hot tubs are nice too. They have three of them - one of them is a bit hidden and almost always empty. :) We also love Starbucks in the lobby.

We chose not to stay there this year only because I think it may be getting a little run-down (so I've heard), but I don't know that for a fact. Haven't been there since October 2009 though and I'm not sure they've renovated since then. But I wouldn't be too afraid. I would be very curious to hear your review when you get back because I know you can score some really great deals there! If it's still decent I would definitely consider going back there.

I forgot to respond to restaurant recommendations. We always eat at Disney, so I don't have anything good to recommend. We always have a car, so driving back and forth is no big deal for us. Takes 10 minutes tops.

We stayed here a few years ago before checking in to Disney and it was really nice. They were doing a refurb of the building that we were in at that time so I can't imagine that it is run down. :confused3 You could call them and ask about it.

I found the resort to be very nice. The kids loved the pool. It had a neat water slide and a water fall. At that time they gave a free adult drink with the room so I had a drink out by the pool. There was some kind of live music or something going on too. There is also a small Pizza Hut there too which was nice.

I actually looked into staying here again for our arrival date on our upcoming trip.

I thought I read that on tripadvisor or someplace - that they hadn't refurbed in awhile. But I could definitely be wrong. We had a little more money to spend this year and have wanted to try Wyndham Bonnet Creek so badly (so much more room), but if we were doing the budget thing (like we almost always do), I would have definitely done a lot more research with the idea that we would want to go back to the Radisson Celebration.

Like I said, I will be very interested to hear the OP's review when they get back!

Editing to add, we liked the Radisson MUCH more than we liked POFQ!!! Our friends got us an airline discount at POFQ one year, and we had only ever stayed at the Radisson previously, so we thought "on property" was going to be so much nicer - it wasn't!!!

POFQ only had one hot tub for 1000 rooms, no Starbucks, only rooms with 2 double beds (not even Queens at the time) - DH and I like to sleep together on our Anniversary, thank-you-very-much ;) and the rooms at POFQ open to the outside, which we really hated. People walking by your windows meant the drapes had to stay closed all the time. Made for a very gloomy room. And the wall safe was so dinky you could only fit a skinny wallet or cash or credit cards in there - for sure not your whole purse or Ipads, Ipods, what have you. The next year we went right back to the Radisson and were MUCH happier. :)

I'm so glad that those of you who have stayed there liked it. We usually do POFQ but this really is a budget trip, and it's not going to be all Disney, so I went bargain hunting.

We stayed here 2 years ago after our cruise and before our flight out. The hotel was a let down to us after coming off of the Disney cruise. The first room they put us in smelled of mold and then we saw the mold, on the pillow covers, in the air conditioner and on the walls. I called the front desk and they changed our room quickly and the new one was fine. Everything else was fine.

Those were exactly the same kind of negative comments I remember reading which led me to believe it might be a bit rundown - the mold issues. I hope it's just sporadic and not a problem throughout the property. And why I hope it's been renovated when you get there!
