Radisson Marco Island - any opinions?

My family and I are considering a summer trip to Marco Island. Has anyone been to the Radisson Marco Island? We desparately need a relaxing beach vacation at a place with a nice kids club. Any first hand reports on the Radisson Marco Island OR Marco Island itself would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am planning our summer trip to Florida and came upon the radisson, too. Go to www.tripadvisor.com and read the (mostly) negative comments about the Radisson.

I just got the Radisson on Priceline for $80 first week of June. The reviews on TripAdvisor do seem negative, but I checked some other sites and the reviews seemed positive. So we are going for it. I plan to enjoy myself no matter what - and we are mostly going to spend time on the beach anyway.

I stayed at the Radisson twice last year. The hotel was fine the first time but the second time we had damp feeling rooms and a restaurant (dinner and breakfast) experience to absolutely forget. Frankly, there are numerous really good restaurants in the area such as Andre's Steakhouse, Konrad's, La Bouillabaisse and the wonderful Marek's Collier House Restaurant on Bald Eagle Drive. If you truly want to know how the Queen of England eats...don't miss it !!

The hotel is well located and the pool and beachside bar is excellent. Have to say that I am open minded about going back and might try elsewhere next time. Interested in any other suggestions folks may have ?

Anyone else ever stay here? I read the one review on www.tripadvisor and the person thought this okay was fine, especially the south tower. We don't need the Ritz but I would like a clean, comfortable hotel with a nice kids program.

Thanks for the restaurant suggestions. We tend to like to venture out to the places the locals frequent - so any nice, casual good seafood would be great for us.
