I promised to post on our experience with this hotel when we returned.

We found it very enjoyable for the $$. We had one of the king suites @ $109.00/night plus tax ($119.90 total). It was large, clean & had nice amenities. Among them: small refrig, whirlpool spa, sink, separate sleeping quarters, tv in each room, coffee pot, 2 large beds in main room, attractive, roomy shower.

I do think that the room was 'showing it's wear' - could've used a fresh coat of paint and the furniture was a little bit stained, but we definitely enjoyed it & the pool & pool area were very, very nice. Very convenient to the port & the surrounding area.:D

Glad to hear it was ok. I just made my ressies. I got 2 king beds, whirlpool suite for $115. This was an Internet Saver rate. Is it the same room you had? Sounds like you got a better deal. How did you book?

Thanks again.

We are staying for our 2nd time in February. It is a great hotel for the money and for a family of 5 you can't beat the price considering you get two king beds and a pull out sofa! The pool is the best after a long day of flying from California and the kids just love the whirlpool tub. (hint: don't put too much of the body wash in the tub for bubbles:blush: ) We also got the internet rate of $115.

We also used the radisson.

Nice close and clean. Pool was nice and heated.

Next time we will arrive earlier to enjoy the whole day by the pool.

It might have been the AAA discount. Or, I know there was a website that I went to (heard about it here - check Dave's site) & I may have gotten a code from that. It's so long ago I can't remember.

Also, we ate at Grill's (coupon on their website, too) & it was very good. Everyone talked about sitting outside but we couldn't get a table. Turns out, we were glad because it was hot & birds kept coming in for a landing next to the tables. We left & went down to Jetty Park & got to see the Wonder pull off. Nice spot to do it & we ran into very nice locals to talk with that gave us pointers about the area.::yes::

Here is what I got for our Feb 1 cruise:

Hi,

We are staying there as well. I was wondering where you found the coupon for the Grill

Thanks,

Anyone have any idea if there are any plans for renovations at the Radisson? We stayed there in January, and our suite was looking worn.

We just booked a room for this Saturday night before our cruise so I am glad to see this thread!

Was the shuttle to the ship and back convienent? That is the only thing I am worried about. If it isn't I will just drive to the cruise terminal and park, but if it is I will use that and save the money.

We booked a 1 - King Bed - Bedroom Whirlpool in in Bedroom. Is their a fold out cousch in our room? If so, we have friends that could come to stay with us, if not - no big deal.

Thanks,
Kelly

We recently stayed at the Radisson. I will say that the hotel is old and showing its age, but the convenience to the port helps you over look the minor flaws. We took the shuttle and we had no problems! Everything worked out great!!!

We stayed in a King Suite in September... ( I believe that there is a King Suite and a TWO King Suite.) We had a great experience at the Radisson! Our room was very clean, and not to worn at all. Looked just like the photos on their web site! Only little thing I noticed was a stain on the ottoman, which to me is understandable.

They have added a van or two to their fleet. There were always clean comfortable airconditioned vans coming and going... With friendly drivers eager to load/unload your luggage for you and get you on your way. (There is a bin for tips!!) We did not have to wait either to or from the Port.

You will want to make reservations for the van to the port ASAP if you want to get there early! ;)

We just stayed at the radisson on Nov. 5. Here is my review. We had a regular room with a king size bed. We were on the 1st floor right beside the pool. The room looked as if it had just been remodeled. It was very nice and big. The bathroom was huge. We later figured out that we were in a handicapped room. That may be the reason it was so big. Or, all the bathrooms may be that big and have handrails and such I don't know. Anyway, we loved the room. The only problems was that the pool was completely EMPTY!!!! I mean EMPTY as in.....there was no water in it. There was a sign saying that they were doing emergency renovations to it and there were hoses running everywhere. The hot tub was working however. So, I hope if you are going soon and planning to swim that the renovations are over. You may want to call and check so you won't be disappointed. Also, some of the areas outside the hotel are kind of yucky. When we got out of our car there was a used condom laying on the ground. Yep, right by my feet. YUCK!!!! and there were several scary looking cars just sitting around in the parking lot with people in them playing loud music. I was a little leary of leaving my car there while we were on the cruise but we did and everything was still in place when we returned.

We'll be staying st the Radisson in just a couple of weeks and was wondering if there is shuttle service to the local restaurants. We'd love to eat at the Grill or Rusty's but since Tiffany Town Car is taking us to the port we have no transportaion once we arrive. Anyone know the answer to this one?

Has anyone eaten at the Radisson's saturday night buffet? If we can't go to Rusty's or the Grill maybe the buffet would be the next best thing!

Grills would be too far to walk. And I do not believe their vans provide this service. You could email or call, couldn't hurt!

The buffet sounded very good, but is pretty pricey... There are two restaurants right there in easy walking distance. Both have gotten very good reviews on the board here. I forget their names. One is Italian type, and one has a name that I think is Greek.

Also, for lunch, snacks, or a quick bite, there is a Subway right there, which is nice. We had lunch there. And, right across the street is McDonalds.

Which is nicer...radisson or doubletree? I know that the Radisson is closer to port but if it is looking worn etc. would it be better to stay at the doubletree? We have reserved a room at both places and trying to decide which one to cancel. The room prices were comparable to each other. We have two small children and don't know if it is common to have condoms on the ground and loud people in the parking lot as posted above...maybe just a fluke??

tbuot -

Hopefully it is is fluke. We have stayed at the Radisson in July of 2002 and April of 2003 and have not experienced any problems. The hotel was filled with families, mostly waiting to cruise the following day. The pool is great. The property was clean and we had no problem with noise. . We also left our car in their lot both times and had no problem at all. Right now we are planning on staying there again August, 2004.

I just found what looks like a good rate at the Radisson at Port Canaveral. Go to abnhotels.com. It is a prepaid rate of $83; $90.30 with tax. The cancellation fee is $20.

We never experienced any loud or obnoxious, etc. people while we were there. In fact, it was very nice & we enjoyed walking around the place & relaxing around the pool.:D
