I see a lot of posts about the rumored DVC at the Contemporary Resort that assume such a resort would be super-desirable and command a price premium over existing resorts. I know I had that assumption.

But then I took a look at the rack rates for the Contemporary Resort, Boardwalk Inn and Beach Club. Not the DVC's, just stanard rooms. And I was surprised to see that the CR is actually cheaper than BWI or BC. Garden CR are cheaper than Standard View BWI/BC, and Tower CR are cheaper than Water View BWI/BC.

I'm sure a Contemporary DVC would have some price premium over BCV/BWV - being newer with more years. But I don't think the premums will be what some of us have been assuming.

Just my random speculation (which is often wrong),

I'm not sure there would be a price premium at all. The "architectural plans" floating around show a pretty big building that will take a lot of sales to fill. Disney would probably rather fill them quickly than more slowly at a higher price. Besides, DVC has a history of keeping prices of "sold out" resorts rising right behind prices for the current resort.

I do think that points per night would be high because of easy access to MK. BCV, VWL and BWV all command a premium for Epcot access compared to OKW or SSR.

Then again, whaddoIknow?
