Rack rate (availability) vs discounted room rate

I have 2 discounts at WDW for my dates but the one resort that is never or rarely discounted is of course not on it.

Has anyone else payed FULL PRICE at resort of choice rather than take a room discount at a different resort.

Resort in question is Port Orleans French Quarter. Only way to book it was to take out all offer codes. And I literally search daily. Had to book like 6 months ago. Crazy how hard it is to book. Only other resort I have issue with is Polynesian Standard View. Literally impossible to book unless a year in advance and no offer code.

I have not, however if the resort in question is POFQ, the discount when offered has been negligible, IMO. If this is the resort you want, book it without waiting for a discount. They are few and far between.

Personally, I generally follow the discounts, so unless a resort is under construction, I choose the least expensive for my needs.
