Racism (Update 1st post)

EDIT: So it turned out it wasn't his mom that had the problem with me. I found out that it was HE who decided he didn't like me because I'm Mexican. Wow...




My boyfriend broke up with me today, because his mom said he had too. Want to know one of the reasons? She doesn't like me because I'm Mexican. Yup that's right.

Has anyone had any problems with racism?

Okay,I don't have anything against African-Americans,and I don't know if this is only in my area or if it's going on other places too.
You say something to them,and they automatically reply "It's cause I'm black right?" or "Your only saying that cause I'm black".
Yet if a Caucasion person says "It's only cause I'm white",we get jumped.
Sorry,it's just really frustrating sometimes.


And IDK if this is Racism or not,but remember Spaniards are NOT Latinos!
Latinos are from Latin America,and Spain is in Europe.
And if you say "What's the difference?",I'll bust a cap.
And don't you dare call me a traitor or a fake cause I'm not from Puerto Rico.
Remember,the people who founded Puerto Rico were from Spain doofus!

But in my school there are Mexicans and sometimes they make fun of them by saying, "Hey, do you want to come to my house to cut my grass?"
They get really offended. But I understand.

That's completely true, I've thought about that idea before.
But realistically, that won't happen.

HEY!! thats called geneflow... itll minimize the difference among individuals and will decrease the average heterozygosity and genetic variation among the human genome... it can work to add alleles from a population or to take away alleles from a population... itll make everyone more similar to eachother than they are now... just a fun fact...>_>...<_<...>_>.... sorry, i was studying for biology haha


but yes.. that would elminate racism... and racism does suck...




imabrat: lol i know what you mean... but generally, in my area at least, they only say that because they cant think of anything else to say.... so i usually just say "no dude, its because your dumb" or something along those lines in a joking way.... as long as they know that your joking around, there really wont be any offense lol... i find that the more clever you are on the burns, the more they respect you haha..

but if the person is the type thats just looking for a fight, than just ignore them.. there are very few of those though lol, unless you live in san andreas or something..

I feel your pain. But just walk away from it. first off you want a man who respects mom but doesn't let mom make his life choices for him. 2nd you dont want to marry into a family that looks down on you.

Ive had similar situations happen to me. Growing up I almost always dated a gringo bf and there dads would love me but you could see it in Mami's eyes and the tone she would talk to me that I was not a welcome guest in here home. Funny thing whenever I dated someone of any ethnic oragin other then anglo moms loved me.

I'm not saying everyones racist or that you shouldn't go mix it up. Just ensure that regardless of who your involved with you should always respect yourself enough that if you see your being treated badly you can walk away with pride and know that its not you.

Plenty of fish in the ocean you may fall inlove with a spotted one =)

I dated a black boy last year, and he was the best boyfriend I have ever had, he was so sweet to me and never pushed me to do anything more than I wanted. But because I am white people looked at us like we were crazy or inhuman. our friends were even upset with our relationship, and that included white, back and mixed people that were upset by OUR relationship, they had nothing to do with it. But we broke up, not because people didn't like us together, but because we never got to see each other, and it was hard on both of us. After we broke up my friends started talking to me again, the sad part is we had a group of mutual friends and they only stopped talking to me during the relationship, they talked to him, but they would get in a lot of arguments. But after we broke up, everything went back to normal. I still talk to him, we are still friends, and I miss him a lot. My mom knew I was with him, but she didn't tell her boyfriend because he is really prejudice and he would have been really mad at me. And if i ever get married to a guy of another race half of my family will disown me, my mom wont, but my grandparents and some of my aunts and uncles will. And that sucks because I find myself more attracted to black boys than white boys because they tend to respect me better than white boys do.

I hate racism.
HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE. It makes me sick.
I think people of other races are beautiful, unique and great.
Most of my area is caucasian and asian (Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc). We don't have many african-... americans? (that always confuses me because I don't live in the US). Anyhoo, most of them are up in Ontario from the slave ages (Underground Railroad, took the slaves from the south up to Canada to be freed).
I love how my country is so diverse though. I just love it. At my old school, there was Jamaican there, and he was so sweet and his voice was amazing.

I hate racism.
My friend is chinese.
We have a couple guys that are chinese.
We have a couple from Korea.
Quite a few African Americans.
And we have a girl from Germany.
We just have a mix of everything.

The one and only thing that I like about my school is that most people don't care what you are. They don't judge you from the color of your skin or where you're from. :]

I can sympathize here.
God forbid I ever wanted to marry an African American man.
My mom would say "As long as your happy"
My dad?
"No way in hell is that gonna happen"
I would be disowned from my dad's side of the family.
And if my granp were alive,he'd probably kill me or my fiancee in my sleep!

My dad is racist and I feel terrible because of it.

For some people in families it's a rule.
