It will be interesting to see Washington state's version of "rolling to flat" :confused3 2 weeks ago Parkersburg, WV "rolling hills" were more like mountains to this flatlander.... :scared1:

Good luck everyone! Have fun!

HEY WISHers!!!

Hope you're all having amazing races and I can't wait to read all about them.

Sending loads of virtual :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Well I "watched" Wendy, Pat & Anne thru the race. I could remember last names and locations enough to find them LOL I should have remembered to check in earlier to remind myself of all those doing Disneyland this morning and check for bib #'s. I never said I was the most organized! LOL BUT I did remember to call the night before! LOL At least I'm improving :rotfl2:

It sounds like all went well. When I talked with Anne they had just finished a group photo (WHICH HAD BEST BE POSTED ASAP! :woohoo: )

Those 3 did AWESOME!!! I was all but yelling and cheering from my chair. Watching the predicted finish times and sending mental pushes :lmao: Whew! staying home and watching from afar is HARD! My neighbors are probably thankful i didn't locate the cow bell before the race was over LOL

Can't wait to hear all about the races!!! And Wendy if you check this when you get home HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Now I'm going to see if I can't find more of the gang :thumbsup2

CONGRATS TEAM!!!! Hope you had the most MAGICAL day possible!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

VIRGINA BEACH IS THIS WEEKEND!!! Hope you all had a BLAST!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: What's the medal like for them this year?!?!? They always have such a cool medal!!! Woohooo!!!! Truly a Coast to Coast Day for Team Wish!!!

Jennifer hope the Crazy Jimmy's was an awesome race!!! :cheer2:

Monday Racers.... Good luck tomorrow!!!

Great job everyone! I can't wait to read everyone's race reports!

I was not able to run Virginia Beach due to lingering Achilles tendon issues :sad2: but I can't wait to hear all about it! Next year Va Beach or Disneyland for sure!

Going to let those who don't post race reports constantly like me report on DL, but I did want to post that I ran the 5k in something like 20:59ish on what might have been a short course and then ran the half with DW Cheryl and she posted a LIFETIME PR of 2:29:07. Woo! :worship:

Now off to check the weather for a certain event next weekend... :scared1:

WAY TO GO CHERYL!!!! Matt that is excellent on that 5K!! But then again I saw your Princess photos and still swear that you have wings :cheer2: I am always happy for your PRs but I know you will totally understand while I go a bit wild on behalf of Cheryl.... WOOHOOOO!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cool1::cool1::cool1:
:yay::yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::woohoo::woohoo:
:woohoo: Hope to see you both in Jan!!! :grouphug:

Kira! Bummer about your achilles :hug: I hope you have a quick recovery and are running strong soon.

Hi all. Back from the Mackinac Bridge Labor Day run between da Yoop and the lower pensiula here on a gorgeous day in Michigan. This was a non-timed, non-competitive 4.5 mile run across the bridge.

Pasta dinner (yech!) and packet pick up were last night. A short pre-race program was highlighted by a talk by Bobby Crim. Anyone from Michigan and some beyond will recgnize that name in running circles for the Crim races in Flint. He's 78 and said he has done over 900 races and is aiming for 1000.

We had to run in the T-shirt we got (cotton), but since it was a short race it wasn't bad.

Race started around 6:45, so it was just beginning to get light. I debated taking a camera with me to try and catch sunrise on the bridge, but decided not to and just enjoy the ride.

The governor usually runs this event, but this year she was taking part in the walk, which occurs right after and attracts thousands of people. She did start us off though.

The weather was perfect and I just ran--I didn't bother with a watch. The National Guard provided the bridge security and lots of cars and buses were coming over filled with people who were going to walk.

At the finish, they took group pictures, so I expect I'll have one to show in the near future. In the meantime, here is one I took yesterday from the shore in St Ignace.

Woohoo Maura!!! It was a nice weekend! How was the drive? Did you visit the island (subtle way of asking ....FUDGE?) How was the wind? I'll live thru yours and Carrie's experiences on this race, I'll drive across it but am horribly afraid to walk across it. The photo is beautiful!!!

Hi everyone!

Quick report. 14.2 miles in 1 hr 52 minutes; 1st in age group; 4th female overall

Slightly more detailed:
Started the race a little to fast and was pacing the first 10 miles at about 7:35 each. Was also the women's leader until mile 8 or 9. After that started hitting hills and the fast start hurt my ability to deal with them. Dropped from 2nd to 3rd somewhere around mile 11. At mile 13 was in 3rd overall, but could out kick at the finish.

Overall, I'm relatively happy. I knew I wasn't in my best shape, but I still managed decent. Now it's time to move on to the full and shoot for that BQ.

Best,
Jennifer

Beautiful picture Maura!!

Congrats to everyone, sounds like it was a great racing weekend.
