And good luck to anyone else who may have a race this weekend. Come back and let us know how it went. You know we all live these races vicariously through other WISHers.
Thanks Maura and Jeremy!
It was great to be out running in a race again. This was my first race back since tearing my right calf muscle last November. 8 weeks of no running, 8 weeks back running post injury and a long run of 8 miles didn't have me in PR condition but I did manage to get through 13.1 miles of Austin hills as planned. We'll see how much progress I make when I run the NYC 1/2 in less than 4 weeks.
Thanks for the support guys! Race #4 of 5 for the Texas Marathon Challenge is now complete. I'll have a full race report ready later this week. For now, I'll just say that Austin has lots of hills, Houston has none, and training in the latter to run in the former makes for some seriously blown out quads and hammies.
