Race for the Taste?

My wife and I are also signed up for the Race for the Taste. We are staying at the BWV. I wonder how difficult it is to walk to EPCOT to catch a bus rather than taking a cab? Since the parks won't be open (Eliminating the opportunity to use the International Gateway entrance), we would have to walk around.

Also, we are planning on going to MNSSHP on Friday, then going to the halloween party at Universal on Saturday night. Obviously, that makes for a busy weekend, but we plan on running the race for the fun of it, rather than focusing on time.

IMHO, I would say it is not possible to walk to EPCOT.
