I've decided I want to try Race for the Taste this year - my first 10K! I haven't signed up yet, and I was wondering if it fills up early? I do plan to sign up before the price increases on September 1, but I just want to be sure if I wait a few more weeks it won't fill up.

And if anyone who has done it before has any advice or words of encouragement to share, that is welcome too!

Thanks :)

The Disney Running forum shows that it was only about 70% full by mid-September last year. You should be fine. Hope to see you there!

Thanks to both of you for your help! So if you are driving to the race, I guess the best thing to do is park at Epcot, and they provide bussing to the start line? And they provide bussing for spectators from the start to finish, is that right? I ask because this is how it was described in the race reports, but the info for this year's race doesn't say anything about that.

Last year I parked at the Sports complex and then was bussed back. No wait for the bus at all. Either way works.

If I see my DH off at the start of the race, is there transportation to Epcot to see him finish? I really want to be there when he leaves the start line.

Also, is it easier If I take his bag with me or should I let it go with everyone elses?

And, do we need to go back to WWS for any reason after the race? Awards ceremony in the parking lot and then back to hotel, yes?

I don't know if there is transportation back to the finish line for family and friends..

As for the bag - there is a bag check and you can get it back at the end of the race. It's up to you/him if you want to do bag check or not.

No need to go back to WWS afterwards -- you get your medal as you finish the race.. then they do kids races.. then they give out awards - right there in the parking lot of epcot. If it's like last year they will have a few Food and Wine booths set up - and he will have a wrist bracelet that has tearoff tickets for "tastes" at the booths.

Last year, a friend talked me into it - the day before. He was literally on his way to pick up his wife's race packet, and talked me into it - he stopped by to pick me up on the way. I walked into WWS on Saturday afternoon and registered - then ran on Sunday morning.
