I rang the UK guest services number to request a particular type of room, and they said they'd just check with a collegue, and then they kept me on hold of 25 mins and obviously forgot about me. So I had to hang up and try again.

Last weekend I tried to call for the same request (a different phone number) and they picked the phone up and hung up on me 5 times without speaking.

I am so worried now that we're going to have a bad holiday due to terrible customer service, and we've spent so much money on a once in a lifetime stay at the DLH.

Please can someone reassure me that the customner service will be OK at the DLH.

We never had this trouble at the HNY :sad1:

Oh dear, did you have more success when you phoned back?

I know it's not the same as staying there but we've eaten at Inventions a couple of times and always visit the shop and the CMs in both have always been pleasant and charming.

Here's hoping you have a magical stay pixiedust:

Thanks Elaine,

Yes I did manage to ask about the room, but they said they couldn't guarantee my request, but have made a note on my booking on the computer. I also asked if they could do something special considering our reason for going, and she said she'd try, but it was a bit late notice, which was weird, because when I rang DLH reception a few months ago, they said to ring the week before.

My mother in law is now too ill to travel with us- in 2 weeks she's gone from a happy healthy person to being really poorly in a wheelchair and on morphine. It's so awful. So my inlaws are cancelling their trip with us :sad1:

I was thinking about you today. I hope you enjoy your trip :goodvibes

It would be a lovely coincidence if we bumped into each other whilst out and about. There's 4 of us travelling- Me and DH with 2 boys- aged 6 and 18 months. DS1 is most noticeable as he has blond hair and Harry Potter glasses.

I am so so sorry about your mother-in-law    that is so terrible.

I will keep a look-out for you and if you see us (there are various photos in my trip reports) please stop to say hello. :goodvibes

Hi, don't worry about the DLH. We stayed there last October and the CM's were really nice.

Every single member of staff that we came across either smiled or said bonjour when they passed us.

We asked for a kettle for the room and it was brought up fine. When I couldn't find the covers for the bed settee (even though they were in the wardrobe) someone came up right away and made up the bed for us.

I think you'll find they will try an accommodate whatever you've asked for - maybe not the extra special thing, but they will have noted your room request.

Sorry to hear that your plans have had to change.

I'm sure it will all be fine - try and relax, not easy I know, but you are going to a lovely hotel and I'm sure you'll all really enjoy it.

Take care :grouphug:

Thanks Julie, your post has made me feel tonnes better :goodvibes

Elaine- I've taken a look at your trippies, so now I know what you look like, so I'll look out for you. :thumbsup2
I noticed from one of your trip reports that you stayed at the Yacht CLub WDW over Christmas. How magical!

I wont go into the poor service we recieved at the DLH last year it was dreadful from checkin right through ....absolutely abysmal...ive worked in customer service throughout my life and if someone paid me 1800 pounds for a holiday,id bend over backwards for them ....DLP need to raise the bar far higher to people at present and imho they arnt doing that ....
