R2D2 Droid phone comes out Thursday!!

Been lusting for this phone since I played around with it at Celebration back in August. . . Dh said I can go on Thursday morning when the store opens (or try at midnight Wednesday online!) but if I get the phone it will be my one and only birthday present. Decisions, decisions!!!!

Anyone else getting the R2D2? (or going to try to get it??)

I have been wanting this for a while now but I unfortnately won't switch to verizon so I can't get it. Wish they made a gsm version!

Haha that is pretty cool. George Lucas must be making a killing with all the licensing. If it didn't mean an extra $30+ a month for a data plan, I'd buy one! lol

I already have the data plan on my current phone, so no extra monthly cost for me.
I've decided to get the phone. Well, try and get it. I'll log into Verizon at 11:50 tonite and HOPE it's midnight eastern time, not pacific time... and if I can't get it online dd and I will be at the store tomorrow morning, bright and early )

Yea...I'll be switching to T-Mobile soon. Verizon prices imo are way too high for a 2+ smartphone wielding family. I hope the Chinese make a knock off of it so I can at least have the form factor to use every know and then!

anyone get it? DS saw it last night...he was planning to get the fascinate then saw this. You know the promo for get a fascinate get ANY phone free...wouldn't that be SWEET? Ah well, we'll see how much DS is willing to shell out, we offered to pay 30% of what he chooses + activation...but yeah, those monthly fees are brutal for a smart phone if you are a family like ours where you still have the old, basic clam shell phones

I went online at 12:00 and it was there. I tried to get it, but it wouldn't give me the promo pricing (349 and they send you a 100 visa card in the mail, so basically 249) because my new in 2 isn't for another 13 months. When I talked to my store yesterday the guy had mentioned that they do a thing where you can pay a $20 early upgrade fee and then you're set. So I'm going to go into the store today and try it. He also said they probably WON'T have them in the store today (my store, in particular) but they'll just order it online for me, doing whatever they need to do to do the early upgrade.

I will NOT pay $600 for it though, as much as I want it. That's outrageous.

As cool as this is even DS said no way to the cost...so at least one kid from the 16 year old target market won't be buying it. He is saving for a car and the phone will put a dent in his savings...or his gas fund! Sure is fun looking tho, I know a lot of people will enjoy playing around with it.
