R U Planning ur snack credits?

We pay OOP for drinks. We don't hoard our SC. When they are gone they are gone and we pay OOP for any other snacks we want. We are on vacation and I want to have what I want to have when I want it. Just call me Veruca Salt.

We do the same thing.:thumbsup2 As a matter of fact, I include $$$ for extra snacks in our trip budget.

after reading about good finds on the snacks , it just hit me that we have 80 snack credits that is alot of chocolate coved pretzels...lol With me , my husband ,4 kids under 13 and my parents who hardly ever snack. I see many Mickey rice krispy treats coming home with us. can't wait !!!:yay:

I've heard so much about these boxes of donuts...can some one tell me more about them? Like how many credits, how big of a box, where do you find them and what kind of donuts are they? :goodvibes

1 credit
8 doughnuts
Retail shops in Hotel
Entenmanns

I'm planning on having a couple of dole whips if that's what you mean. Oh, and I think dh will love the make your own marshmallows from the candy store. I don't worry about the little things...:dance3:

Oh wow, what's the make your own marshmallows?

On our last trip my younest son was just under three, so we used some of our snacks for drinks when we shared our CS meals with him. My older boy is still talking about Itzkadoddles. We used some for breakfast too. But I'm with Veruca Salt. When on vacation we get what we want when we want it.

I was so sad when we ate the last Mickey rice krispy treat after our last trip. I think we brought home about 20 of them.:rotfl:

My snack credits for go as many Dole Whip Floats as I can scarf down!:rotfl:

I do want to try the cookie with ice cream inside from the MK bakery, haven't had that yet. Oh & we have to try school bread..but in asnwer to the OP's original question, no ,there is no real sc plan in place for us.popcorn::

What is the best way to find out how you can use your snack credits? I just want a pretzel from Germany! Can I have that? I imagine I will walk up to get a snack and they will turn me away and I'll end up paying for what I actually want!

Planning use of my snack credits...no, making a "huge list" of must try snacks...YES! Although I was also one who made DH buy three cases of water at a local Walmart as he was blowing through our snack credits too fast! I love tasty treats, and if I run out of credits...I will just pay cash.

I have found the best way to use my snack credits are for breakfast (love the cheese danish at the Main Street Bakery) or a box of doughnuts at the resort something small. I also let my daughter use them for treats in the gift shops that you always have to walk through tubs of cotton candy that are like 4.00 or the packs of 5 lollipops. Then she is getting a present I do not have to shell out cash for. I bring drinks to the parks I too would grumble about getting water. I find you get so much food I do not want a lot of snacks!;)

I thought about using snack credits for breakfast, but that won't work for us. When we're on vacation, we try to have a hot breakfast each morning.

It's hard to settle for pop tarts, doughnuts, or muffins when you can have Mickey waffles and bacon.

We didn't plan our snack credits and quite frankly, we didn't want any snacks. We were too stuffed from the rest of our meals. If I had to do over, I probably would have used the snack credits to get breakfast items instead of taking them with us. On our next to last day we had 26 our of our 40 credits left. We ended up using them for candy and pretzels for the trip home.

We are arriving fairly early and then moving to another hotel without DDP. We will have two nights of credits for 8 meals. I plan to use the snack list on this board & figure out how we can utilize the snack (& CS) credits to stretch out the plan over the extra time. My 3 DDs are not big eaters, even though two of them are in the adult category, and I think it will work for us. I also want to use the snack credits early and definitely enjoy and not go hungry. If we end up having to pay OOP on the last DDP day, that is fine. On the other hand, if we have extra snack credits we can get boxes of doughnuts and such to eat in the second part of our trip.

Stocking up on some snacks for those last days your there (not on the plan) is a good idea. Also keep in mind you'll have until mid-night on your last day at the WDW resort to use your credits up. :goodvibes So your first day in the non Disney hotel you'll still be able to use the credits.

FYI....when we were on the DDP we were soooo stuffed from the other food (CS &TS meals) to really even use our snack credits...we ended up stocking up on misc items that could be enjoyed on our next leg of the vacation and the way home. ;)

I'm kind of planning our snack credits. We'll have twenty, and since we'll be there during the F&W Festival, I'm sure that's where most of them'll go. Other things we "need" would be a dole whip, Figaro fries, and I think we'll buy a box of Entemann's for breakfasts.

Question. Does anyone know what kind of Entemann's Pop carries? The powdered sugar, variety pack, or chocolate frosted?

I wanted to be sure we got our money's worth for snacks, and didn't "waste" them on cheap or run-of-the-mill things....

*sigh*

We ended up cramming 13 boxes of cookies into our suitcases the last day.

Next time, everyone gets to use their snacks however they want. I've decided that a big part of the fun is just that -- knowing you've got it and it's yours to use when and how you want. What's the fun of eating a Mickey Bar if you REALLY wanted a popsicle and you wanted it two hours ago, but Mom gave you a dirty look and said it wasn't worth a snack credit made you wait for this instead? ... Cuz that's what I did, and apparently I didn't even do THAT often enough looking at all the credits we had left to burn.

So next Disney trip, I PROMISE I will let everyone use their SCs until they're gone, without saying a word.

Glad to read this. Helps me loosen up for my upcoming trip in three weeks.
We are taking my two kids and four of my nieces. I'm not going to worry about how they use their credits. I'm afraid I have a tendency to be controlling:rolleyes1 (just ask my husband) and it is good to be reminded to not be so much when it comes to food.
That is why I am so happy we are using the plan; I won't freak about wasted food as much as if we were being handed a bill for it.
Deb
