I'm wondering if we need a fast pass for Rock n Roller Coaster? We've always used the single rider line in the past, and don't mind being separated for a short ride. Is it still a short/relatively short wait using that line? Does single rider get long at certain times of day?

While we're on the subject, is the single rider line at Everest still good for a short wait? Thanks!

It has been a long time since I did single rider, but I have heard in recent years that the RnR single rider does not save you a lot of time. I don't know personally, though. Last time I went, I did it during EMH and there was about a 25 minute wait.

Single rider can be slightly faster than regular standby but not by much, if at all. I rode RnRC 4x last week. Twice single rider and twice with FP. Was 10 mins with fastpass and 45 then 35 single rider (posted waits of 60 and 30, respectively).

These were all mid afternoon (2-3pm) over two days.

Meanwhile, single rider at Everest has always been FAST for me. Like 10 mins tops with 45 min posted waits.

It can still be a long wait in single rider. I did it in May, and the standby was 60 minutes. I waited about 45 minutes. So it was better, but not a huge time saver. I had used my FP for Toy Story.

Our experience in April was that the single rider line was longer than standby by about 20 minutes.

Standby wait was 60 min.

I just watched one of Tim Tracker's vlogs today and he rode RNR a few days ago. Posted wait was 30 mins, he waited 20 in the single rider line. He said that from his experience lately the singer rider line doesn't save much if any time.

Haven't tried it myself, but I'll echo others by saying that I've read that single rider doesn't save that much, if any, time. Last time I was there, there was a sign in line saying that single rider may result in longer waits than standby.

I saw this one too. and I have heard from many people that the single rider line for RnR is just about the same amount of time as stand by, some times longer.

My concern on RnR single rider is you can't actually see the line and it's very visible so lots of people try to use it. You have to go into the studio then wait in the garage area and only then do you see how long your wait may be. In comparison, Expedition Everest's single rider is a "hidden gem" that always saves a ton of time AND you can see how many people are in front of you.

The worst experience I ever had at RnR Single Rider was back in February 2014 during dance group week. I stood behind that fence and watched what seemed like 3 or 4 consecutive groups of 20-30 girls and chaperones board the coaster. Obviously when that happens the single rider line doesn't move at all, it was frustrating but I guess it's the risk you take with SR lines. I ended up bailing on the ride which was equally frustrating as I had to try to get past the 30 or so single riders in front of me to get to the front of the line where the exit stairs were. I'm sure many of them thought I was just line jumping, lot's of dirty looks.

This has been my experience as well over the past few years.

Its better early morning, but from my experience, diminishing returns as the day goes on. After 11, I'd pass.

R n R is Tier One, right? So we have to choose between TSMM and R n R? We have three FPs for TSMM this trip. Should we give up one of them for R n R?

I would give up one of your TSMM. It is a great attraction, but so is RnR. Both are must do on our trips, so we either do multiple days with FP, or arrive early enough to standby in a short line (20 minutes or so) and then hop to another park.

You're going to HS on 3 separate days? If that's the case, I'd definitely make RnR my FP+ for one of those days.

Don't know if it an option but for you but we usually get to DHS for rope drop and ride RnR first when it is walk on, then ToT (something several times), then TSM using FP.

If you want to ride RnR and it won't be at rope drop, then definitely change one of your tsmm FP's to RnR.

Toy story waits are not as insane as they used to be now that the 3rd track is open

So the TSMM wait times are usually under 60 min.? We're not planning any rope drops at DHS, but we will be there before noon one time, on a Monday. At what point in the day do the wait times start to climb? Are they still pretty bad in the afternoon? This is a top priority ride for us, so we appreciate all this info.

The wait usually isn't too bad and is a lot of times under 60 min, but it will depend on the crowds. If you can get there early in the day or wait until late, then that would be the best

I'd say that the wait times start to climb after 10:00-10:30 on a regular park open day. And once they climb bad throughout the day until the last hour or so. Here's a link to a chart from Josh at EasyWDW showing wait times at DHS a few weeks ago - http://www.easywdw.com/reports14/hollywood_studios_waits_august_19_2017.jpg - and you are looking at 60+ minutes (though it varies a bit) for TSM and RnR after 10:15 or so, and RnR is a 60 minutes by 9:30. So I'd say that if you aren't making rope drop then the best option is to switch one of your FP from TSM to RnR.
And Everest single rider is the best single rider line at Disney, especially early in the day (say around 10:30-11:30).
