We have a 7:40 ADR for Rose & Crown hoping to catch Illuminations from the patio. Now we are wavering on whether or not we want to do this. I don't want to have a bunch of people crowding around us whil we try to see the fireworks. (we have never seen illuminations before).
Now I am thinking we should try to get an earlier ADR for Chefs de France, and find a spot on the lagoon outside to watch Illuminations. Part of this decision is that I think we will enjoy chefs more. But also we would like to sit and watch illuminations- but not if we will have to stand to see it anyway :headache:
ANy suggestions??? P.S> we are going on 10/26- its a thursday

We do R&c for illuminations every trip, and love it. If you get a spot on the patio, you will be just find. There won't bee a bunch of people crowding around. R&C has a special viewing area for guests who aren't on the patio (which also is great if you aren't on the patio). We've sat on the patio and off the patio, and had a great view for illuminations every time.

Getting a spot around the lagoon to see Illuminations is pretty easy - there are all sorts of great spots. While some spots may get taken an hour in adavnce, many spots do not fill up until 15 - 20 minutes prior to the show. Do the earlier dinner at Chefs than wander towards Japan, US, Italy, etc. and you should be able to find a good spot to sit and watch.

We were seated on the patio on our last trip, and there were no people around our table at all during Illuminations. We have seen Illuminations at least a dozen times, but this was the absolute best view of it we ever had. I would HIGHLY recommend the patio at R&C.

(When we checked in for our ADR, we told the CM that we would wait until seating was available on the patio. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes beyond our reservation, but it was well worth it!)

On our trip in Aug, we were fortunate enough to get an excellent seat at R&C on the patio. We were directly in front of the globe as it came to the center of the lagoon. It was amazing. Our wonderful waiter served our dessert just as Illuminations ended. It was so nice to be seated at a table without anyone crowded around to watch the fireworks. Of course, all of this depends on if you get the outside table that you want. While my vote would have to be for R&C because of our wonderful experience, I would still suggest that you pick the restaurant where you will most enjoy the food.
