QVC Scrap Day?

A little while ago someone mentioned that QVC was having a scrapbooking day on Jan 19th. (I think that's the day.) Does anyone get their "Insider" paper & know what the "Special Value" will be for that day? (I can't believe I'm even asking this! I just spent more $$ at ACMoore/Michaels this morning.

I was thinking for some reason that I read the TSV was gonna be the quickcutz system. I may be totally making this up, but I thought I read that. Sorry I'm not more helpful - lol.

I don't know what the special value is, but I was reading the creating keepsakes magazine because Lisa Bearnson is supposed to be on. It is on like 12 hours tomorrow starting at 12A. Gotta set my vcr!

Okay, here is a question. I'm pretty new to scrapbooking. Which is better, Sizzix or Quickutz?

It's a Quickutz Handtool, Zipper Binder, Upper and Lowercase (30 dies - which means it's a mini alphabet, not a full size) of CK Typewriter font. This is a new font designed strictly for QVC and not available in the stores. The retail price (according to QVC) is $350.00 and they're price is $181.00. Using the prices at our store, I come up with a retail price of $290.00. Either way, it's a bargain!

As for which is better???

I have the Quickutz. I like the portability of it. The Sizzix machine is very heavy. Now Sizzix has come out with a machine called the Sidekick - to be used with the Sizzlets alphabets. It's light and portable - probably made this to compete with the Quickutz.

Price wise, their very comparable. Personally, I like the fonts and the dies available with the Quickutz.

Girls, since I am a night Owl by nature, I turned on QVC at midnight and there was the special value of the day! It was as mentioned before, but the special price was
$149.82 plus shipping. They had a two flex pay option that worked out to about

I just went to www.qvc.com and found the quickuts system for $149. So it looks like the same price.

Now, the question is...my dd JUST started scrapping....
do I need this? I've already spent about $300 on this hobby and she's made ONE page! But I'm one of those ppl who want to make sure she has everything she needs to not become frustrated with the process.

??? seems like too good of a deal to pass up!

The item they were just showing has an "Anniversary price" & it is the same on air as it is on-line.

I haven't shopped QVC since I worked (& then it was always for jewelry) and I know that prices were always the same back then, too.

I have to turn QVC off now....they're showing Textured Memories Scrapbook Paper & Vellum for $18.12 and I really like the papers they showed & really want some vellum. Where's that remote?!?!?! AUGH!!!

I.....can't......spend......any.....more.....money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA: Why, oh why, did I click on that "Bradletz Scrapbooking Embellishment Kit" link on the side of the page? DD is into brads instead of eyelets. They're so cute!

I wasn't quite that close. I didn't have the phone as DD left if off the hook last night & it needed to re-charge. I know you can order on-line, but I didn't go to that page either! So far I'm doing good. I just need to stop looking!

I didn't 'fess up & tell you gals that I broke down & went to AC Moore/Michaels on Monday. I got DDIL one of the Sizzlet Alphabets - but most of the $$ will be from the rest of the family as they won't celebrate her b'day until next month. I spent $114 at AC Moore & another $30 at Michaels.

Michaels had their MM die cuts on clearance. I thought that at 10/$1 I could afford to get "a few". Well, when the girl at the register counted them, I had 57...and she counted a bunch of jungle leaves that were already punched out as 1 item. I got some Mickey balloons, pirates , film strips, movie camera on a tripod & a director's chair (for MGM), safari hats, bones, moose, dinosaurs, castles, princess hats , a pagoda, waves, clouds, mermaids, flowers, leaves, trees....

And I got the cutest tablet of paper for our WL pix. It's a Bitty Scrap Pad called "Into the Woods". And a bunch of stickers since they were 40% off. I've had to tell the people collecting coupons for me to please stop!
