QVC Chrissa package- return or sell on ebay?

I bought DD9 the Chrissa doll from QVC that came with 2 books and 2 outfits. We've decided on a different item for her main gift, as I really don't think she would be all that excited to get Chrissa- she likes her dolls but there are other things she wants more right now. I'm trying to decide whether to return to QVC (I rarely order from them so I don't know what their return policies are) or sell the package on ebay (or sell the doll and outfits each separately). I think I'll give the books to the 12 year old girl we are sponsoring this year- she asked for books.

I do NOT want to make a big profit, but would prefer not to be out any money either. It looks like the doll is selling for retail right now on ebay. It's been a LONG time since I sold or bought anything on ebay so it worries me a little.

Similar thing happened to me last year - bought Mia, DD announced she wanted Kit. So I listed the whole package that I had gotten from QVC on Craigslist for what I had paid including shipping.... I said something like "$150 for the whole package, or ..." and listed individual prices with slightly more profit. Ended up selling the whole thing to one woman and I broke even in the end. So I'd recommend Craigslist over Ebay - too many scary stories lately from Ebay and you have the hassle of shipping.

Along the lines of paying it forward........last yr I purchased Samantha & Nellie Best Friend set. DD got Samantha for Christmas. Well we fell on some hard financial times and I sold Nellie........best part it was to a fellow Diser and I did not make a profit at all.

That said, if you would quote a price I would considering purchasing Chrissa.

On Cyber Monday I spent way too much time putting in a order that I just found out did not completely reach AG so they are not honoring it. Sadly I missed the little bit of savings I could get.

PM me if you want.
Thanks.

QVC has an extended return policy for the holidays. You have until January 31 to return any purchases that were made between such and such a date. You would need to call customer service to find out what those dates are, becase I am not sure if it started October 1st or when.

I purchased the same Chrissa package from QVC then found out my daughter doesn't like Chrissa, she wants Rebekka.

So I just posted on my facebook account that I have this package and was willing to sell it for what I bought it for (including shipping) and had four people within an hour say they wanted it. They were all local too, so I didn't have to ship anything.

You may want to try that or Craigslist, would save the person shipping and it doesn't cost anything to try. But I would do it soon, since a lot of people are finishing up their shopping and that would be a fairly big ticket (money wise) item.

If you return it to QVC you are going to have to pay to have it shipped and you won't recoup the original shipping.

I would sell her on Ebay for a one day auction, or wait until next year. Chrissa is now sold out and will fetch a good price.
