DB and his wife are planning a trip to WDW. They have 6 kids  They usually do the QSDP but are considering the Deluxe plan because they want to do some dinner shows with the kids. Can the older 2 kids (who will be listed as adults) order kids meals at CS places? I know you can do this with the regular DP and the QSDP but I have no experience with the Deluxe. Thanks for your help.

I asked this question a few hours ago, but no one is answering so I'll try again. DB is planning a trip, (they have 6 kids!). They may do the DXDP because they want to do some dinner shows. Are the cs credits pooled on the DXDP so that the 2 kids that are over 9 can order off the kids menu at CS if they want to ???? TIA

There are no CS credits on DxDP. Just meal credits, that can be used at TS or CS. There's also no breakdown of adult vs. child at this time, for the same reasons CS credits aren't split on DDP or QSDP.

Technically, you are limited to ordereing no more than X adult and Y child meals at one time, based on what's listed on your KTTW card. Will they all your to order a kids' meal for an adult? Probably. But there's no guarantee.

Perhaps no one answered because they got confused. When using the Deluxe Dining Plan, ALL credits are pooled. Meaning any credit can be used for either CS or TS.

You still are only allowed as many meals (adult or child) as your card says. So if you card says 4A & 4Ch you can order up to 4 adult meals & up to 4 kids meals -- nobody will care at CS who eats what. I don't think I ever needed to order as many CS meals as there were people in my party, would have been too much food.

Often at some of the more "fast food" type places there will be an adult portion of some of the kids food, like chicken nuggets or fingers -- and last time it seemed that the "adult" chicken nuggets were better than the "kids" chicken nuggets.

Oh, thank you. :thumbsup2 One more question: If Grandma takes the older kids to a TS while DB and his wife eat CS with the youngest kids will that be allowed assuming DB gives Grandma a KTTW card from his room? Is that clear? In other words, can 6 people have CS and 2 have TS in a room where 8 are listed? I think I confused myself:rotfl:

Absolutely. All KTTW cards will be able to access all the dining credits in the room. So if G'ma has her own room & parents & kids are in another, she will need both her card & at least 1 of the kids' cards to pay for meals w/ dining credits.

If mom & dad have a ressie at one restaraunt for 2 & G'ma & kids have a ressie at another restaraunt for 6 at similar times, use different names/phone numbers for the ADR, so the "new & improved" ressie system doesn't go auto-cancelling any ressies on you, thinking you are double booked.:)

Thank you so much. Now to figure out a way to keep track of kids credits used as opposed to adult credits. Or do they have to ?

The one time I used DxDP we were only 2A 1Ch. I stuck to the rule "can't order more than is listed on the card" and did not try to keep track of credits any further than that-- so for us it was 2 Adult meals & 1 kids meal. Honestly we sometimes didn't even order that much, if we ate CS. At TS DS always ordered a kids meal. It was so much food, we left a few credits "on the table" when we left, so if we inadvertently ate an extra adult CS meal along the way, they still made plenty of profit on us.

How many people TOTAL are going on trip? How many over 10 and how many under 10?

No, they don't have to. They'll be limited to the notation on the KTTW in regard to how many meals they can order in a single transaction, but the credits are not separated into child/adult in the computer system so there's no need to keep track of how many of each are used. Each receipt will have the remaining number of meal credits printed at the bottom.

So All credits are pooled, no breakdown between A/ C even. I think my knowledge of the regular DDP was confusing me. I don't get why they don't seperate the A/ C credits though. Couldn't they seperate a room with 2 A 2 C as 6A 6C credits per night ( to be used at TS or CS)? DB has 4 A and 4 C listed in his room. His mother in law will be joining them, but in a different room, for a few days. Thanks for your help everyone.

For the same reasons that CS credits are "pooled" on basic DDP and QSDP. Namely, there are still some locations without a kids' menu, and that causes confusion and possible incorrect charges when trying to figure out which meals are supposed to be charged as adult vs. child. Since you can use a DxDP meal credit for CS, the same problems apply.

Should they ever finish putting a kid's menu at each CS location, I would expect that CS credits and DxDP credits would be broken out as adult/child.
