Quitting vaping

I know someone who is trying to taper off. Was able to drop them to a 3% and thinking a zero vape in the mix might help cut cravings along with having candy on hand (Butter Rum helped me quit smoking) so it seems worth a try.

Anyone have any experience with zero vape options? I really wish there were 1% & 2% in between but this might work

I despise this new sort of cancer stick, big business got the kids started in HS and now who knows the damage to them :(

Trying to figure out if there are any reliable at home heavy metal test kits people rely in in industries where exposure is an issue?

From what I've read heavy metal exposure is a thing

What kind of vape are we talking about? Nicotine or THC?

If it's THC and he's just looking to stop vaping but not cannabis use in general, he can switch to edibles. I myself use gummies (or at least I did, haven't for over three months now but still have them in my closet).

If he wants to keep vaping but doesnt want THC or Nicotine anymore then there are CBD, hemp, or even placebo vapes that you can get in many different flavors to help curb cravings without giving up the habit. Look into Aquios.

Nicotine, and I remember smoking - boy did I love smoking but these vapes are an altogether different thing with a much stronger hold.

So I dropped him to 3% and have been buying the Crave Zero to mix it up, the Emerald zero smelled like spearmint Tic Tacks but started to give him headaches (migraines in the family) and then switched to the Diamond ones.

I'll get an Aquios to try too, any port in a storm

If it's Nicotine then try a placebo vape but give him nicotine gum or a patch to help starting weening him down little by little. Cold turkey is never a good thing with addictive substances, especially alcohol.

what level was he at before you dropped him to 3%? I use 3% (when I quit smoking I went with the lowest level nicotine vape I could find) and on the odd occasion when I can't get 3% and have to use 6% I find it to be a huge difference in strength so if he's coming down from 6% or higher to 3% give it some time and he may just be able to quit entirely with a 0% (and no patch or other nicotine replacement). I get migraines too-so I like the lightest flavored stuff they make (cloud berry).

It was mostly 5%, but I have noticed he is much calmer with the 3% & think the higher was causing jitters

What helped me a lot was keeping my hands and mind busy—fidget toys and puzzles worked surprisingly well. I also switched to herbal things for a bit that didn’t have nicotine. A friend mentioned live resin carts as something he used when cutting down on vaping; said it took the edge off a bit without pulling him back into nicotine routines. Just sharing in case that’s helpful for anyone exploring different paths.

Still at 3% but so far I consider it a health improvement.

WIsh the Gov would force them to do 2% and 1% to help people taper. Now I know the businesses like it just fine with everyone addicted but I feel like they shouldn't get away with it like this. Can't even imagine the financial burden to society down the road:(

I've encountered a lot of success in the use of hypnotherapy. Well, mainly for smoking, but it applies to vaping too. 96% success rate after 4 sessions, they boast. Also effective in a group setting.

I know it sounds kooky, but don't knock it 'til you try it!

I quit for good using a combination of gradually reducing the nicotine I was vaping until I reached Zero. I helped that along by asking my Doctor to prescribe Wellbutrin. A very mild sedative that just made you chill, not spacey or dangerous of addiction. It worked very well. I actually started the Wellbutrin before I started to reduce the levels in the vape. That was in 2016 and used the meds for one more month after and then dropped that as well. No problems at all. 9 years now and don't even have a desire for cigs or vape anymore. It makes me laugh when I see people using the super vapers that belch out clouds the size of a nuclear reactor vent.
