I watched the program last night and if it had been me that was expecting quintuplets I would have started downsizing my finacial responsibilities at the very moment I found out. A family does not need an enormous home to raise 6 children in. They were looking at a 3100 square foot home talking about how small it was, I have six kids at home right now and we live comfortably in a 2300 square foot home. Also, a major drain on resources is new clothing and shoes, go to a resale shop. Watch the Duggars and learn from their frugality. I believe they could live in a 3 bedroom house just fine and it doesn"t need to be 3000+ square feet. I also noticed all the photo sessions they were having....costly I am sure. They must remember, the babies will not always be in cribs and two sets of bunk bed will fit those children perfectly! And when the babies outgrow the cribs and carseats etc. have a yardsale! I am not anti-multiples, I know couples desire children and go to whatever means they have to in order to have a family, that is admirable, but one must not be unwise. These couples who use fertility treatments and wind up with multiples need to prepare for the cost from the beginning. Save, reduce, move to smaller dwelling, sell unnecessary items, buy used and save the difference, accept hand-me-downs and donations and work your backside off until they arrive. Then you should be set.Atleast for the first year. The husband should then hire helpers for his wife and keep busy working and supporting his family. I am sure there are plenty of good hearted people out there that would volunteer their time to the family without expecting anything monetarily in exchange for their time. My prayers are with this family, and hope they gain some wisdom in their journey and can perhaps help future couples learn to prepare for the upcoming responsibilitiy of raising and supporting multiples.
