Quiet spots on Dream?

Cruising on the Dream with a 3-year old and 14-month old in September.

My 3-year old is pretty sensitive and often needs a nice quiet retreat where she can just be alone. Obviously, there is the cabin to go to... but I assume there will be times when the little one is napping and having the 3-year old playing in the room, talking to herself, would not be helpful. We will have a verandah, but obviously we're not sending our 3-year old out there alone and the space may be a little tight for her to really feel 'alone' with somebody sitting out there supervising her.

Are there ANY quiet corners on the boat that aren't adult-only? Nooks and crannies that may seem more secluded where she could sit and color while I looked on from a few feet away? I know there's not a library, which would have been ideal.

And what about int he kids' clubs? Is there a quiet area the introverted ones can sneak off to if they start to feel overwhelmed?

Thanks so much!

There is somewhere on deck 13 that my husband found. I am not sure where it was other than up the midship elevator. My husband had to study on our last cruise and went to Guest Services to ask about a quiet place. The CM took him up to deck 13 and he said there were only a few people up there. Maybe in the back funnel?

He may have found "Outlook" which is a lounge used for private parties and at times is open. It's on Deck 14 mid-ship (atop the forward funnel above the Edge) accessible from the mid-ship elevator. You may have to get out at 12 or 13 and take the stairs.

IIRC only 1 of the midship elevators goes all the way to the Outlook Lounge. If you don't get on one with a 14 button, just go as high as you can, then look for the stairs. Small stairway, not well marked, almost like it is hidden! Well worth any trouble it takes to find it, because if it isn't in use by some party, it is a delight.s View is fantastic (adult pool area and ocean beyond, intimate comfort, nice seating with small tables, usually deserted and thus dead quiet.

This sounds like it could be it from what he described. It was exactly what he needed and he was impressed that the Guest Services CM took the time to walk him up there.

The lounges on deck four, as long as there isn't an activity going on, are often very quiet. Also, the lobby area in front of enchanted Garden on deck three can be very quiet, aside from mealtimes.

Thank you all so much! You may have just saved thousands of people from having to listen to the massive meltdown that results when this kid needs alone time and isn't getting it! (And that's just ME melting down... you should see the kid!!) ;-)

Deck 4 outside the Adult lounges there is a Wooden "gazebo" like structure. Port side if I remember correctly.
I've never understood what it was for but would be perfect.
Also if there is not a character greeting happening the main lobby can be very quiet. Lots of couches and chairs in different "conversation" areas.

That is a designated smoking area but it doesn't seem to get a lot of use.

when is your sailing? we are on the Sept 7 trip

Wow! Love this thread. Thank you so much! Sailing September 14. Dont plan on utilizing the concierge sundeck sinc cant see the ocean so wanted a nice quiet place to lounge but still have bar service. Over NYE the adult pool as well as he deck above were always so crowded but we were a party of 10 and expected that over NYE. We want a more relaxing feel in September.

Ive copied lots of these posts. Thank you.

We'll be on the Sept 14-- we promise to steer clear of your quiet place if/when a toddler decides it's crazy time. :)

Lol. We are on same sailing. No worries. My kids were that age one time too.

See you in two months!
