We are leaving in 18 days and have a full page of ADR's waiting :cheer2:

My DD (6) and I are planning another trip for this summer while DH and the boys' are going on their big boy scout summer camp retreat.
We are planning on staying at WL... unless a discount code comes up and we can upgrade to the poly :lmao:

We are looking for QUIET places to eat on this particular trip. My DD is VERY well behaved and all that good stuff. We love the "hub" that is Disney but like to take a quiet time out to recharge our batteries.
What do you suggest is the quietest places to eat IN PARK for lunches?
This is also our first Mother/daughter retreat and I want to make it special for her.. we will be there for 8 days so have plenty of time to pick serveral quiet meals :rotfl:

I hate to sound sour, but IN the parks, there aren't very many quiet places. The only real option I can think of is to use CS, take your food and find a quiet spot; Epcot has more options for this than the other parks. I also enjoy quiet dining, and I visit the parks 3x/year, and you don't have any really GOOD options. Tutto Italia was not super loud, but it also wasn't worth the $100 price tag for lunch for two.

in park dining and quiet is not common. A couple of suggestions in the MK, Columbia Harbor House in the upstairs area and, it has been a few years since we ate there, the Plaza Restaurant.

It may be too hot for you, but at AK, you can pick up food at Flametree BBQ and walk past the tables out back and proceed to other tables that overlook the water. Not totally quiet, but quiet enough to recharge yourselves.

But since it's summer, it won't be that comfy as far as the heat goes.

I know quiet is a relative term when it comes to in park meals :rotfl:

I know I do NOT want CP :rotfl: for this trip
I know I do NOT want chef Mickeys
I know I do NOT want Rainforest Cafe

I am doing my reserach now and here are a few places I am thinking of

Tony towne square
Le ceillers (if we can get in)
Brown derby
I am thinking of staying away from TS for AK and getting cs that day and then going to Artist point for dinner.

I know the in park places I picked are not V&A when it comes to quiet BUT at least we won't have to yell at each other from across the table :rotfl:

We are even thinking of leaving the parks for lunch and eating somewhere quiet at the resorts.... but that might take too much time out of park fun. Since we will be leaving the parks for the afternoon heat ... my options were
1. get a TS in the park and after eating head on out...
2. leave the park and head to a resort for lunch but sometimes the travel for this can be a pain ..

The general plan ... since it is summer and I will be with a 6 (then 7) year old by myself.... is to do the parks in the morning and when the afternoon sun hits HARD go back to the resort to lounge by the pool.
As I said, we leave in 18 days for our big family trip and will be "doing it all" so I was looking for a slower paced trip this summer.

In MK I second the Harbour just outside the Haunted Mansion. We went there on our KTTK tour and I couldn't believe how quiet it was on the second floor :thumbsup2 In MGM (or should I say Hollywood Studios), we find Mama Melrose to be quiet and they certainly don't rush you at all. We enjoy wonderful lunches and dinners there and seem to talk and relax as much as we want. It's right ahead of you as you come out of the Muppets show. In EPCOT, Mexico is quiet and dark--really a delightful contrast to the weather outside. Enjoy:cool1:

Having lunches by the pool?? Does your resort have decent counter service? That might be a nice option....or in your room....it'll be quiet there!!! DH and I have no kids and we look for quiet too. Hard to find pretty much anywhere in WDW.

In our experience Tony's Town Square, Le Cellier and Brown Derby are all very noisy places to dine. We've done lunch and dinner at each of them. No difference -- all noisy.

Quiet dining in the theme park restaurants is impossible. Quiet dining elsewhere is nearly impossible. We did have a quiet lunch one day at the restaurant at Saratoga Springs - can't recall the name.

Recently, we found Citrico's to be delicious, but it was so noisy we could hardly stand it. And, we always dine late -- past 8:30 p.m. -- when we hope things will be quieter.

Quiet dining and WDW just don't seem to go together.

I like the suggestion at FTBBQ. That reminded me that at Pizzafari, if you take your food out towards the back of the resturant, turn left and go outside, there are tables along the building there outside that are hardly ever used. It's real nice and a good spot to see a lot of Cardinals (if you like that-I do!) Also, at MK, in addition to the CHH upstairs, Pinocchio's Village Haus has an upstairs. There are only about 7 tables up there, but hardly anyone knows of that area, so it's real quiet. For TS. I've found many of the eateries relatively quiet at lunch (one reason why I like TS at lunch)-LTT, R&C, and Marrakekesh especially.

As I have to agree with everyone about the lack of quiet factor and we will be on the deluxe plan...
I think we are going to skip lunch entirely and use our 3 daily table points for
breakfast/ dinners. This way we can have a few early 2ts dinners at nicer places and room service breakfast (can't get any quieter than room service hehe)

I was just HOPING there might be a quiet place I have missed for a nice relaxing lunch :rotfl:

I don't like CS meals so the BBQ thing will most likely be out for us.

not really sure about lunch, or even a place in the parks but I loved Artist Point. It was a nice quiet restaurant with good food and service. As for the parks my only suggestion would be some of the quick service places in the World Showcase. Most every time I go to by the CS in Japan, it is practically empty.

I would think that if your were looking for a quiet meal I would think that you could do Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian. I know that it is later than lunch, but maybe you could eat sort of a brunch about 10:30, and then do Tea about 2:30. It seems like that would be a quiet, relaxing way to charge your batteries after a day in the park.

Also, it just seems that WDW in the Summer isn't really the place to be seeking quiet places. The combination of heat and lots of people could make even the most well behaved child have a major melt-down. Maybe I would just plan to be in my room if I was truly looking for a quiet place to recharge.

We have made plans for Artist point... early dinner instead of a lunch in the park.

I like the idea of the tea at the GF I might look into that. We are doing the deluxe plan and I don't think thats on the plan. Its going to be tough enough getting all the meals in ... but if we do a room service breakfast, the tea for a lunch and then pick a late dinner that night... it might work! Just a nice quiet place to recharge more than trying to pig out :rotfl:

just a suggestion:
go to EPCOT for a little shopping "around the world" (22yo & i did this last year ~ we just wandered, stopping in the shops, watching the performers ~ without any males saying they were bored :sad2: lol it was so nice just taking our time, chatting, without any real agenda:cloud9: ). afterwards, you can exit out international gateway, take a ferry or walk over to the boardwalk (of course, checking out the hair-braiding, any performers, etc on the BW) for lunch or dinner at spoodles (or you could reverse the order, i.e., starting at BW, ending at EPCOT WS).
