We are headed to Disney for his Make A Wish trip Feb 6th to Feb 12th. I will have help caring for our son one evening for a few hours. We never get to go out as a couple and dinner with our son is a complicated event every evening, so we are looking for some place more on the quiet side and laid back. It doesn't have to be fancy or a signature restaurant. What it has to be is a place to just enjoy a meal with my husband that we can simply enjoy dinner and each other's company. Suggestions? I would appreciate your input greatly. Thanks.

First of all Welcome to the DIS. :welcome:

Disney restaurants, by far, are not quiet. The are filled with families with children. The Signatures are the quietest and most adult focused. But the are also the most expensive.
Are you asking about a theme park restaurant? AResort restaurant? How about Disney Springs?

If you want a restaurant to treat you special, I have never gone wrong at Deep Blu. It's not a Disney restaurant, but it's just off-property and incredibly quick and easy to get to (if you have transport). It is pricey, but it has always been worth every penny. Every year on my anniversary, they have made my spouse and I our own special menu to order from, and then signed the menus from the whole staff to take home. We have also gotten other small lovely comped gestures, and I have felt so special there. It is quiet and there are never any kids there. http://www.wyndhamgrandorlando.com/dining/dining-seafood-grille

Thank you for the welcome! And the help. A restaurant doesn't have to be in the park since we will have a car. Just somewhere you can say you've had a meal that you felt you could focus on your partner and just enjoy. I will look at the Deep Blu, I have never heard of it before. If you were looking at a Signature restaurant, what would you select for quiet and relaxed, if any? An evening not to discuss medical issues is priceless! A dinner alone is magical in it's self. I am just hoping to pick the right place.

If you want quiet but not signature, you might want to consider one of the moderate TS restaurants. They don't have as much traffic/demand as the park and deluxe resort TS.

I agree with PP about Artist Point. We've eaten there several times and the atmosphere has always been quiet and serene. If you'd like something a little less expensive, I would suggest Capt. Grille at the Yacht Club. The food is very good and it's also a very quiet restaurant.

Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian is very nice. And you might want to check out the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. The Maya Grill is also very nice and it is located at Coronado Springs Resort.

i agree with Artist Point. Jiko is anther Signature Consideration. If you don't mind dining late, we've enjoyed Citrico's, where it gets quieter in the late evening. Victoria & Albert's, if you are up for it, is quiet and relaxed if you don't mind formality.

Artist Point was quite and very nice when we ate there sround 5:30-6 on trip. We've also had a wonderful evening at Jiko. The food at Jiko was great and you can take a walk in the lobby and even go out on the Savannah viewing deck there.

For a Signature I would recommend Jiko, but check the menu first and see if you see something that appeals to you.
I agree with the Turf Club at SSR resort. It is easy to get to and park and it is quieter than most restaurants.
Have a special dinner

My husband and I had a fabulous "night out" at Sanaa. We were staying at AKL and our three tween/teens stayed in the room with the luxury of Hot Pockets and a free movie rental ("That Darn Cat") both from the hotel's store. We arrived about an hour early for our ADR and decided to sit in the intimate bar area. We started at a table, ordering drinks and the famous bread appetizer. However, when a larger group arrived, we offered them our table and moved to the bar. The bartender explained the bread/dipping sauces to us when the appetizer arrived and offered up his favorite dipping combos. He was friendly but not intrusive. Then, our table was ready. We had a quiet dinner in a beautiful restaurant.

We were AP-holders last year and this is one of my favorite memories of that year.

I highly recommend Sanaa for a relaxing atmosphere (agree that you'll get less families if you book a later ADR) and delicious food!

The problem with "quiet" is that you are at WDW--so at any given time on any given night a "quiet" restaurant" can become miserable with screaming kids and/or loud drunk adults--the adults especially at the Swan/Dolphin spots which are in convention hotels.

And then you might get a quiet meal at any of these restaurants--it's always a toss up.

Over many years we've found Citricos to be the most quiet of the WDW owned restaurants. And Blue Zoo/Shulas at the Dolphin.

If you choose Deep Blu, book it on Open Table and write down your occasion/reason for visit in the notes (they read these:). The good news for Deep Blu - you can probably change the reservation anytime and there is no cancellation fee if the day goes sideways for you:)...

It's not signature but my husband and I had a nice meal and experience at Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk in August for our Honeymoon.
We have been twice and the food is always excellent. It wasn't terribly crowded either time we went.
Enjoy your night out whatever you choose! :)

I second the Artist Point suggestion for a signature. If not a signature then I would head to one of the off the beaten path TS dining places like Olivia's at OKW or Turf Club at SSR.

Another vote for Artist's Point if you're interested in signature dining, as well as Citrico's.

I'd also recommend, as others have, a non-signature TS restaurant at one of the resorts, and that you go really early or later to avoid peak crowd time (and noise). We had an early meal at Boatwright's at POR that was very good, and the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. We had an even better meal at Captain's Grille at BC with a much later seating (after 9), and the crowd in the restaurant thinned noticeably as our dinner went on.

Several good suggestions here. I'll second the vote for a later dining time at some of the Signature restaurants. Favorites for a quiet, adult meal include Artist Point, Jiko and Citrico. Not on that list are California Grill (impossible to have a quiet meal there with everybody waiting for fireworks) and Le Cellier (too crowded/crammed in tables).

Off property, Bull & Bear is a really good choice. Not cheap but very nice. Outstanding food and service in a quiet atmosphere. Its at the Waldorf Astoria, a very short drive away.
