quiet dinner for two suggestions

Jiko was very nice for the two of us.

Not so quiet, but we sat at the bar and ate at the Crews Cup Lounge in the Yacht Club - FANTASTIC!!! Got some cocktails, it was a surprising and great end to our day. They have booths also.

We are headed to Disney for his Make A Wish trip Feb 6th to Feb 12th. I will have help caring for our son one evening for a few hours. We never get to go out as a couple and dinner with our son is a complicated event every evening, so we are looking for some place more on the quiet side and laid back. It doesn't have to be fancy or a signature restaurant. What it has to be is a place to just enjoy a meal with my husband that we can simply enjoy dinner and each other's company. Suggestions? I would appreciate your input greatly. Thanks.
The Wave at The Contemporary.

The first restaurant that popped into my head was Artist's Point at the Wilderness Lodge. It's usually pretty quiet, romantic, & the food is wonderful.

I've also heard The Wave at the Contemporary is pretty quiet & a great meal......I wonder if they would also let you watch the fireworks there after dinner if you timed it right? Not sure the rules on that....

Lots of good suggestions here, but I'll add my thoughts just for grins. As others have noted, the quietest restaurants generally are the Signatures at resorts, and they usually do get even quieter the later the reservation. That being said, the only truly quiet dining we've found at Disney is Victoria & Albert's. It's very pricey but an exceptional experience. Beyond that, here are my recommendations.
Artist Point: Perhaps the loveliest ambiance of the Signatures. We prefer to make an early reservation and ask for a window seat, and we've had excellent success. Generally speaking, AP is one of the least crowded Signatures, as well, perhaps due to it being off the beaten path and its reputation for having a fare such as buffalo and salmon (though it has much more than those two items). If you do go a bit later, I'd still ask for a window seat and be willing to wait a bit to secure one. Being able to look out over the pool and courtyard area adds an extra layer of uniqueness. The food is good, and the service usually exemplary. Moreover, the overall serenity of the Lodge extends to AP and makes it an exceptional place to connect with your spouse or significant other.
Jiko: A close second to AP in ambiance and perhaps even better menu. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful, and the styling inside the restaurant reflects tranquility. As with Artist Point, you can have lovely, quiet conversations with your spouse and feel as though you're being treated as a special guest.
Il Mulino: Upscale and a bit busier than either AP or Jiko, this Italian eatery has a varied menu that allows you to order small plates from their selections of pasta which is a great way to save money. The service is very good as is the food. You can still have quiet moments alone, but the turn over is greater and tables a tad closer. Still, I think yo'd have a great meal here.
Sanaa: Very laid back vibe here, and the food is quite good overall (I especially recommend the bread service--fit for two!). Very convivial and efficient service, and as a bonus, if you go during daylight hours, you can see animals on the savannah. There will be more families about, but we've never had a loud experience there.
CA Grill: Considered one of the better Signatures, it has the glamor of being atop CR where you get views of MK and Wishes at night. However, one major caveat here is that it always seems to be busier and noisier than other Signatures, perhaps due to it also being a bar and the popularity of the location. While I've had good to great meals there, I wouldn't choose it for intimacy. Joyous and celebratory dining? Yes. Quiet or romantic? Not so much.

Suggestions? I would appreciate your input greatly

For peace and quiet "adult date-night" meals . . .
1) QS:
. . . absolutely, none
2) 1-TS:
. . . sometimes, Sanaa at AKV
3) 2-TS (Signature):
. . . always, Artist Point at WL
. . . usually, Turf Club at SSR

NOTE: If you catch The Wave at Contemporary for lunch or early for dinner (5:00pm-6:00pm), the noise level is relatively low. After 6:00pm, families start to come in and it can get noisy, plus kids frequently leave their table and walk/run around.

We had a late seating (I think it was 9:30 p.m.) at Jiko for our 15th anniversary last year and enjoyed a very quiet, lovely dinner with excellent service. I would imagine that a later seating at almost any of the signatures would result in a similar experience (perhaps with the exception of CA Grill, for the reasons others have already noted). Wherever you end up, I hope you have a lovely evening! You'll have to come back and tell us about it :)

thank you so much for the suggestions. We are inpatient in the hospital now with our son, so it gives me an opportunity to see what we can get reservations for. Keeping fingers crossed for a discharge on time to catch his flight. Thanks again!

I'd consider Monsieur Paul in France at Epcot. Years ago, we had dinner there, and the service was wonderful, the food was good, and we enjoyed the wine pairings too! It isn't inexpensive, but it felt nice to be upstairs away from the crowd at Epcot! White table linens, great service, not sure what the menu is like now though. There weren't many children, other than mine, who used to be quite foodies for the most part and were used to upscale dining, so they were well behaved.

I wish you well, and hope your son recovers so you can go enjoy!

Just an outside the box suggestion that maybe someone else can opine on - but what about a TS restaurant at a moderate resort? I've stayed at POR three times and each time, Boatwright's is half empty and seemingly pretty quiet. Not sure how Shutters at CBR or the TS restaurants at CSR would compare, but I think moderate level TS restaurants are often overlooked. Just a thought!

Monsieur Paul is a great choice. The food is very good, it's (relatively) quiet & being upstairs you feel a bit more removed from the bustling atmosphere of the WS. Trattoria al Forno & Citrico's are really good choices as well. The food is great at both & they never seem to fill to capacity which makes it a bit more relaxing as well. Enjoy your trip!

I would consider Captains Grille at the Yacht Club, when you are done with dinner you can take a quick boat ride to the boardwalk and stroll around a little while

. You could also Also moderately priced would be Grand Floridian Cafe. After dinner you could stroll the grounds or take a monorail ride to see the other resorts.
Also Citricos is pretty quiet. Its a little more expensive.

As others have said, The Wave is good if you get there early, otherwise the noise level and wait goes up.
Have a wonderful trip.

We ate there once, and DH didn't care for the "Denny's" feel. It felt very sterile, and the people walking by were open to the restaurant. Never went back.
