We've never eaten at any of the counters for dinner there so I'm going to need some help please :) We're a party of four with Grumpy in tow and a son w/ autism; gonna need some place NOT hectic and out of the way if possible.

Last time we walked into--then straight out of--Pizza Planet...

I really appreciate it!

DH and I ate at Backlot Express, close to Star Tours. There weren't many people in or out of there and it is broken into different areas and there are some tables sort tucked away in the back. We had a nice quiet pleasant lunch there. You can miss it if you aren't looking for it.

Dito for me too. This place we found last year and it was so quiet and peaceful and away from the crowds. We sat outside near the side and it was really nice.

When we ate at Backlot Express the place was an absolute zoo! :scared: I could not wait to get out of there.

Another option could be to leave HS and take the boat to the Dolphin and eat at the Dolphin Fountain, which is like a ice cream parlor/sandwich place. Then you could take the boat back to HS.

The food options at HS are pretty bad, and Disney doesn't seem to want to fix that.

Another option would be to grab bagels/sandwiches at Starring Rolls and find a bench to sit at (if you aren't going in summer).

The ABC Commissary was surprisingly good, it didn't taste like 'cafeteria' food. Good variety, decent prices, and the place is so big inside that we found it very easy to find a quiet corner in the place. In fact, we had a whole section to ourselves, and it was a typical busy day.

Thanks so much, everyone!
Looks like the studios had more choices than I thought :) We're trying the Dining Plan and gotta' use those counters.

I'll narrow it down to the Catering one, ABC, and Backots--depending on when we get hungr and where we are. We'll be there the beginning of April so hopefully the crowds will be forgiving. Gonna check out a map; don't recall every passing any of those places.

Which is a good thing. Hopefully out of the way really is out of the way. Or at least easily overlooked.

Ditto on the Commissary. We have three kids and they get active when there is a lot going on and won't eat so we try to find places like this. It's always worked out pretty well here!!

We (two adults, no kids) like to go to the back of the park to the Flatbread Grill (used to be the Soundstage Catering Company). The seating is outdoor but covered. There's plenty of "running around" room. It's not totally quiet but the only times you really see hordes of people is when the Backlot Tour empties out.

We found the food places twoards Twlight Zone to be extremely crowded no matter what time of the day it is. The Backlot Express is OK but you can hear Indiana Jones sometimes. Since the Flatbread is in the back of the park, it doesn't get as much traffic.

And if you have "Grumpy" with you - there's a full service bar right next to the Flatbread Grill.

Another option to consider is to set up at the picnic tables by the Anaheim produce company (on the left side as you walk towards Tower of Terror). It is shady and usually very quiet there. You can buy fruit, yogurt, pretzels, turkey legs, ice cream, etc. right there, or you could go to the Starring Rolls bakery and get sandwiches to carry back to that area.

When my niece and nephew need to take a break, that's always where we head to. It's relaxing and has never been crowded.

The Writer's Stop is a great place to go for a quiet snack, some of the best cookies in the 'world!

We ate at ABC Commissary and it was very quiet - I imagine it was during an "off" time though. I wasn't impressed with the food - it tasted very vending machine like.
