Quiet and picturesque SSR location

DH and I are staying at SSR November 7-12. We will have a car, so bus stop order isn't an issue. We're a middle-aged couple and probably won't do much, if any, swimming, so proximity to a pool isn't a priority. We're requesting an upper floor and we'd like a nice, secluded location, but it would also be nice to be within a reasonable walk to the food court and/or Downtown Disney.

What are your recommendations?

Also - has work begun on the main pool rehab?

I'm really looking forward to this trip since we had to cancel our last one at the very last minute when my dad had health issues.

Quiet and secluded would be Carousel, probably everything you asked, but not necessarily close to DTD and the main pool area. I would probably recommend Congress Park, you are near the side entrance to SSR so you can get in and out with your car easily, have the walkway to DTD and relatively close to the Lobby/food court area.

I also suggest Congress Park although Carousel would probably be the quietest.

I agree with PP's on Congress Park and Carousel...but to me, there really isn't a "bad" section of SSR! Enjoy your trip!

we just stayed in Congress Park in December and it was great! Lovely view of the quiet pool, with the lake & DTD beyond that. It was very quiet and the walk to the Lobby wasn't bad at all, maybe 5 minutes or so.

Carousel is remote and not what I would consider picturesque (I've had views of the parking lot/guard gate, 2 times), secluded yes, from anything and everyone!

Congress Park is quiet and picturesque, especially if you request and get DTD view. Congress Park is a 10 minute, easy walk to the Turf Club, the Boat dock, Artist Palette and the main pool. You can also walk or boat your way to and from DTD. We had #2601/03, view of the water/DTD, quite lovely.

Congress Park is our favorite. FWI, when I called MS yesterday the CM said that work on the new Paddock pool has stopped and they are reassessing what they will do there.
