If you're starting out from the BC I'd use the first poster's plan. If you're already in Epcot, though, you could take the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Ctr and then walk to the Polynesian.
I'd walk through Epcot and take the monorail to the TTC and then the resort line to the Poly. The Poly is the first stop on the resort line after the TTC. That's the easiest, assuming you have a hopper you can use. A well-timed bus to the MK may be quicker and wouldn't require a hopper.

Generally, the fastest way to any resort is to come from a park. But if you aren't IN Epcot, it's a fairly long walk to the other side of the park. If you are trying to get to Poly for an early breakfast, Epcot might not be open that early either.
Second, if you are at TTC, it's probably not worth getting on the resort monorail - the Poly is a short walk, and even if you tkae the monorail, you've got to walk up the ramp to get to it (and wait for one), by then you could be at the Poly.
I'd go withthe first poster's idea. Unless you want to take a taxi (about $10), and sometimes the best way to get from resort to resort by far. At MK, the boat ramp will be a shorter walk, but the monorail is often faster.
