Quickest way from the Fort to MK

How about other parks? Is is best to take the boat to CR then monorails to Epcot and bus to DHS and AK?

It's certainly not the quickest route to Epcot, but I really love doing the boat and two monorails (concluding with a monorail loop through FutureWorld) so for me it is the best way to go. Buses are, IMO, a fine way to get to every other park... though many insist that they are painfully slow and choose to drive instead.

I think you can drive to the CR and park there. You'll have you resort ID in the vehicle window and you can tell the guard you have reservations at MK at 8am. I use to drive from the Fort over to CR all the time when you could fish in Bay Lake behind CR.
I don't know if this has changed or not, I'll try to check it out for you. Sure would make it very easy for you as you could control your time so much better.

The Contemporary launch starts at 6:45am, add the walking time and resort monorail and you should (just) make it!

Thank you for answering my question. I apologize for taking so long:guilty: I also realize that if I READ what you had written earlier, then I would have seen that you had stated the launch starts at 6:45. So extra thanks for graciously answering me anyway:)

This would be awesome, but I don't think we could leave the car there all day, could we?? I thought you could only park at the monorail resorts for approx 2 hours, to get through your meal? Thanks for any input!

The otters run a special boat service but with those lushes driving you have no idea where you'll end up. The boats leave from River Country. They do use jet boats though which means you get nowhere fast!

I have never heard of being allowed to park at a monorail resort to enter the MK, ADR or no. I thought to park at one you would have to say you were dining at THAT resort. Can someone confirm that parking there for a MK ADR is acceptable?

:confused3 I'm confused by the first post. Your resort ID/parking permit gives you access to your own resort but gives you nothing special at other resorts particularly a monorail resort.

People have posted that if you valet park you can stay all day at a resort, but others have posted that you get the same 3 hour parking pass that everone else gets.

That's what I thought.

Our plans have changed a bit, and we'll be doing this early breakfast at CP on our last day now. So, we want to drive to the park since we'll be leaving for home (:sad1:) at the end of the day. My plan is to park at the TTC around 7:30 and see what monorail is running. If we can go straight to MK, that's great. If not, we'll head to the CR and walk from there. I'll be sure to post when we get back to let people know if the park monorail runs that early.

We have another MK day during our stay, and will take the boat over that day - can't wait :yay:

I will share our experience in May....

We have had several ADR's for CP for breakfast and have tried all the ways that have been mentioned to get there. We thought the walk from the boat dock at CR to MK was too long for my kids, especially if you are in a hurry. This past trip, we decided to drive over to CR and park and ride the monorail to keep from having to wait on a boat....BIG mistake! I didn't think it was a big deal to park at the CR since we have driven to the Poly just to shop and the guard just waved us through after she saw our FW parking pass. We have also driven over to the AKL a couple of times just to look around and have had zero problems there. Anyway, we drove up to the guard shack and he wanted to know our name for our ressie. I said we didn't have one for a CR rest. but just wanted to look around and maybe shop(we did shop but we also wanted to park and get on the monorail to get to our breakfast at CP!) He told us we could not park there. I said why not, we can park at any other resort and shop and possibly eat without a ressie! He got really mad and told me to sign a book and that we had 2 hours and gave us a 2 hour parking pass and told us to park in the parking spaces closest to the road. He was very rude and made us feel very unwelcome there. Needless to say, we parked and stayed at the MK most of the day(not 2 hours) and our truck was there when we got back(my husband was kind of worried, but I wasn't, I was ready for war!!!)

I am not going to say it is acceptable because we were made to feel very unaccepted because our name was not in his book for a ressie at the resort. Besides, it took too long to drive over, park, and walk up to the monorail. It would be faster to just take the CR boat then monorail.

I would also suggest riding the orange FW bus to WL then taking a MK bus. This is a very easy option.
:)

I recommend the boat to the Contemporary. It is a quicker boat ride (although you have to walk or Monorail to get all the way to MK). My kids love it. They call it the Willy Wonka boat.

My two cents. I would definitely take the boat to the Contemporary. Having to get the car and drive back at the end of the day is a hassle. Taking the boat back to the Fort is very pleasant and restful. The walk to MK from the Contemporary is quite pleasant too. We have done that as well as taken the monorail.
