Quick waitlist question

So I have a 2 bedroom booked at Riviera (one of our home resorts which we LOVE). We're traveling with friends who love the Poly and would like to try to get in at 7 months. Would prefer Theme Park or Preferred view so would put in for 2 waitlists hoping one of them comes available. Do we also have to designate Lock off or dedicated 2 bedroom? No difference in points but there are separate results when you search. We would take whatever 2 bedroom became available and lock off vs dedicated makes no difference to us. I'm assuming that if we have to designate on the waitlist, that a lock off would be more difficult to get since you would need a studio and 1 bedroom to become available, right?

Dedicated and lock-off 2-bedrooms are separate booking categories and that also applies when creating a wait list.

Yes, you would need to decide which one you would want and you will be limited to two waitlists...and each view and category counts seperately

Yes again two waitlist, only way to waitlist for all 4 is two membership/Use Years, I miss having a second random use year for this exact reason

Just to clarify for others, those extra waitlists would not be used for the same reservation with the same points though.

So, even having two memberships, you’d need to have points in each one, independent of the other, for it to fill.

I would not bother waitlisting the lockoffs, unless for some reason the 1BR was already just sitting there. Otherwise, both need to come available at the same time for you to get it via waitlist.

After that, I'd look to see how many 2BRs are in each category, and waitlist the two categories with the largest number of rooms. You may as well maiximize your chances, even if that means a Resort view (unless you definitely would not move if that's all there was.)
