Pre-trip...
So...I'm tired of the rain in Texas, I am having job issues that are about to lead to a leave of absence (good thing) to take a break and get some serious triathlon training in, and still, months after a breakup with who I really thought was my Prince Charming, I still have days where I need a lot of pixie dust....
Thanks to buying an AP (because I learned on this board that I can save some $$! yay!) since I knew I'd be at WDW in Jan for the marathon and May for the 1/2 Ironman tri, I figured I might as well get some use out of it.
I had a week off work, I figured March weather in WDW would be a little warmer than here, so I called and found the AP rate for POR, which was $104 a night. Cool...we usually stay at the Poly, so this is a bargain. I found decent airfare ($226 each r/t), so I called my mother and said, since you didn't get to go watch the marathon, do you want to go on a quick trip to WDW? Of course, she said yes.
My main objectives were to preview the 1/2 Ironman race course as much as possible, check out a resort I haven't stayed at before, and get some pixie dust. I told Mom the rest was her call...what to do, eat, etc. No rush to ride thrill rides for me...I rode them in Jan., and will ride them in May. So she looked at her info and came up with a few things. And I booked the Keys to the Kingdom tour for us.
And away we go.....
(hopefully the rest of the report will get more exciting to read...I don't have the gift for writing that some of you have (like Disbug!))
