Quick trip during busy season

We have been to WDW many times so we don't have to see every little thing or stress ourselves out, but do want to spend the time we have wisely. We are traveling in late June with adults and children who will want to spend time in the pool. The plan is to check into the AKL by around 3:00 and enjoy the resort for the day. Debating leaving for dinner vs. dining at Boma. Not sure the cost of Boma is worth based on the eating preferences of the diners but it would be easier than travelling off site. Planning the two following days at MK. Have made reservations at CRT for breakfast at 8:20. Debating fast pass times. Should I shoot for FP's as early as I can get them then try for additional ones later or save the FPs for the mid day when things are most crowded? No other reservations for dining are planned. This trip is a quick stop on the way to the rest of the vacation. Hoping this kicks off the trip in a fun way! Thoughts on the plan? Thanks!

I would try Boma if you will not be arriving until 3. I like to make our FP for earlier in the day and try for others after but we also take midday breaks when it gets too crazy.
Sounds like a fun bonus stop on vacation. Enjoy!

If you are arriving to the park at RD, don't waste your FP's first thing. You can ride with little to no waits for an hour, maybe a bit more. Use them later in the morning or day (depending on your plans) when longer lines start to form.

You could always just get food at Mara and bring it out by the pool. I love the whole pool area at AKL, very relaxing and truly transporting! I agree with the PP that you might want to get the FP's for later in the day when the park is most busy. If it is a busy time of year, you may not even get those additional FPs - they might all be gone for the day.

This is the qualifier for me. It will easily be 9:30 and maybe even 9:45 before you're done with breakfast and back in the park. That pretty much excludes you from the first "golden" hour of touring. I'd make my first FP+ for 10:00 and go from there.

If the park opens at 9am and you are heading for a ride before 9:30am, then you could get in a little bit of decent time. I think first FP+ at 10am is probably good. If lines aren't bad, then you can head for that FP closer to 11am. Lines will be long by 11am. We always hit rope drop, and I still book our first FP+ for between 10am and 11am. Summer isn't as bad as most people think, well compared to NYE. You should be able to get more FP if you book your last one by about 2pm. You won't get great ones, like Seven Dwarves, but you might still be able to get Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain. You can definitely get lower tier ones, like Pooh, Buzz, etc.
