So my bff and I decided to take a quick trip to WDW this weekend and left Sunday afternoon to head up. It was only a 3 hour drive so easy to do. Checked into our hotel as we did stay off property using my points for a free room at the Comfort Inn on 192. Nice place but farther than I really wanted to be. Website said it had a hot tub, it did not so that was disappointing.
Met up with my daughter who is in the CP program after she got off shift, and had dinner at Planet Holllywood DTD. Awesome dinner, and was very happy that the server allowed she and I to share our meal as there was no way either one of us could have eaten a full meal.
From there we took the ferry over to Saratoga Springs, thinking we could walk around and check out the Holiday Lights... DISAPPOINTMENT... none to be really found. Hopped a bus to the TTC from there and walked to The Contemporary... wonderful looking Gingerbread house and a nice tree, but nothing to really write home about. Monorail to Polynesian and was even more disappointed there. The Grand Floridian had a wonderful Gingerbread house and HUGE tree but again, nothing like we expected. At this point we took the bus back to DTD and went back to our hotel.
Monday morning we got up and drove to EPCOT... walked in and saw a few landscapes on the way past SpaceShip Earth, Saw the tree which was decorated nicely. We rode the "NEW" Test Track... eh... its alright, ride is the same just the scenery has changed and I don't think it is as great as it was, seems they could have done more with it. Still makes me lose my breath right before the speed sign though.
From there we took the ferry down to DHS and spent the rest of the day. Watched Lights, Motors, Action... great show... Rode the Backlot Tour, went for our lunch reservations and Prime Time Cafe, yummy as always. From there we wen to see the Muppets 4-D, then hung out on the Streets of America for the Osborne Lights... WOW was that amazing. I took so much video and so many photos, and as we were leaving I spotted the kitty!!! Found many hidden Mickey's and really this was the highlight of the trip for us, other than spending time with my daughter. Her College Program is up in January and she will be moving back home, having completed the two semesters they are allowed to do, and she loved every minute of it. She is thinking to sign up as a seasonal employee now, as she really loves working at the most Magical Place on Earth!!! At least at the end of spring she will finish her AA and be able to transfer to a University up in Orlando and be able to work while in school.
