Quick ticket questions

I want to purchase three, 3 day park hopper passes while in WDW in July. I see that I can order them online, but I only save about $1 each, then I have to add either $5 to pick up at resort or $10 to be sent here at home.

My questions are, can I purchase these tickets at my resort when checking in? Will the price be the gate price? Also can they simply be added to my room key? If I purchase these before the trip, can they be upgraded once there (even to an AP?)

You can purchase tickets at the resort for the regular gate price, although I'm not sure if they can put them on the room key or not. All tickets can be upgraded. Check out ticketmania.com. I don't think they're charging for shipping right now.
