It's 10:30 pm and right now I should be 2 1/2 hours into our 16 hour trip to Disney that I've been planning for months. Instead I'm waiting to see if my DD is going to throw up for the 11th time (no I'm NOT exaggerating) since 7:30 this evening. The poor thing is miserable. She feels terrible and keeps saying "you planned this for so long - I'm so sorry". Needless to say I'm feeling sorry for myself. Anyone want to help me?

And yes, I do know that I'm lucky to even be planning a trip like this! And we WILL have a magical time once we get there!

I am sorry about your daughter! Is she like the flu or is it something else?
My son did this once the night before we were to leave for Disneyland, he was 2 and got better over night! I hope for a quick recovery for your DD.

I hope she feels better (maybe it's just excitement??? I hope!) Well enjoy your trip and take it easy!

Best of luck in getting on your way soon. My DS3 had a vomiting/ diarrhea thing two weeks ago, ended up lasting 6 days. It's so hard to see your little ones ill. You do what you have to do. We ended up with a trip to the ER and IV fluids and IV then oral Zofran for vomiting which ended up being a godsend, finally some relief for my little guy. Best of luck to you and hoping you are able to be on your way soon with everyone feeling healthy.

Sending some Pixie Dust for your family :wizard:

I pray she gets better!

You will have a wonderful time once you get there.

Are you giving her food/drink? Once my DD threw up 11 times and my Mom (an RN) said don't give her anything! Her stomach doesn't want anything in it. So we quit everything, even the ice chips and she did quit throwing up immediately. After a couple hours of rest, she was fine.

Sending some pixie dust :wizard: to help your DD feel better!!

Thanks for all the support everyone. No, we aren't giving her any food/drink. She has gotten sick like this in the past and it is counterproductive to give her anything as she just throws it up. She is sleeping now. I'll keep praying! Hopefully we can leave in the am.

First of all dont feel bad for being disappointed its only natural after all the planning. And I know you are trying to make her feel better about the situation and how exhausting it is trying to cheer her up as well.
Having a child that gets something like 15 bad colds a year, I can relate to your situation. Less than 2 days before our long drive begins and DD8 is coughing and vommited once earlier. This doesnt necessarily mean the worst, since she does this occaisionally and is fine a couple of days later. However sometimes she is sick well over a week. We are hoping for the best. But as much as we are looking forward to Disney if we have to cut back on a few days we will because her well being is the most important thing.
So I sypathize with you and my prayers will be with you and your family as well.

I feel sorry for you!!!

I hope she feels better soon (like all better and she says "are we there yet?")! :wizard: :dance3:

Hope your daughter is feeling better this morning and you are able to depart for Mickey House, Have a good trip and tell us about it when you get back, :wave2:

It never fails with kids...they also seem to get sick right before a trip like this. My DD5 got bronchitis the week before. We had to travel with the Nebulizer and a duffle bag full of meds. My sister is also a nurse and she brought syringes and phenergan vials from her office. My DD11 started vomiting mid way through our trip and she begged not to get the shot so I let her rest with a half of tab of phenergan in her. She was fine the next day. We were determine not to end up at the hospital while we were there.
I hope she's fine now. Definitly agree with the above poster about NOT giving anything to eat or drink 2 hrs after throwing up. The stomach is just not settled enough to take it. For anyone going on a long trip like this, ask your doctor for a prescription for phenergan tabs or/and suppositories...just in case.

:grouphug: Truly hoping she feels better this morning. Poor kid, that is so exhausting for you and her. Here's wishing you all the best.

How is she doing this morning ? Hope things are looking up and she is feeling better !! Here's to a quick recovery and a magical vacation ! pixiedust:

Sometimes its hard to be a good Mom. Sounds like you're a good one. Sending pixie dust your way! Hope you leave soon! :cheer2:

Sure hope you are well on your way this morning. Wishing you a fabulous trip!
