Hi all, I tried looking for this answer but no luck so hoping I can get the answer on here. I haven't been this year yet but going in a couple weeks. I went to DW this year and they had a small bag line has DL adopted this yet by chance. It seemed to be a newer thing at DW. Just trying to plan and wishful thinking.

*edit it's not an option thank you!

All the security lines are the same; no bag, small bag, stroller full of bags, no difference.

When I go to DLR, I carry a very small purse that has several tiny zippers. Security makes me open every zipper so they can look in.

Was there a couple weeks ago - all lines were the same. Bag had to be off your person and all pockets open. Also, everyone goes through metal detectors now, too.

The metal detectors are not consistent. We were there Thursday - Monday this weekend and went through the metal detectors about half the times we went through security. It seemed like they will funnel everyone through the metal detectors until there is a backup to the bag check table, then they will send everyone through without the metal detectors until the detector line is gone, then everyone through the detectors again and so forth.

Thanks everyone I am use to the security measures but I just wondered IF it had changed. I looked into it more and it doesn't seem that Disneyland is set up to handle it for some reason.

Yes, this exactly. First thing in the morning or when it got really packed it seemed they would funnel people away from the metal detectors to keep the area moving, but once bag check was under control they were pretty much sending 100% of the people through the metal detectors.

Well, times are changing, as the west side security checks are being built and designed from scratch, and will be located near the ESPN Zone and at the Mickey & Friends Structure. (The East side will be getting new ones in a couple of years as part of the new Eastern Gateway project.)

Yep! I can't wait for that. I hated leaving to get a drink/food at DTD and re check!

They are doing some construction right now at the Earl end of DTD which is supposed to move the security checkpoints out much further which I think will be great. All of DTD will be inside including Monorail station so one check and done!

I was at WDW two weeks ago and there was no small bag line at any of the 4 parks...

I was there in February and we had them at 2 of the 4....

A lot has changed since February, security wise. The security protocol seems to change weekly now. However, Disneyland has never had a small bag line or even a no bag line. Everyone always has to go through the same checkpoints.

Ok great! I was just asking if it had. I dont go to DW much so I have no clue, just know what I experienced. Sometimes stuff rolls to different parks so I thought it was worth a shot.

I was hoping for a no bag line, like WDW often has, but we had to stand in the looooong lines behind strollers loaded with bags just to walk right through. I realized on day 2 there was no point in trying to go bagless if it wasn't going to save me anytime.

Metal detectors were hit and miss, too. I think we only walked through them once in 4 days?

Maybe the new security checkpoints will allow for more options.

Yes! I just want to pass all the strollers and massive bags, wishful thinking. I am hoping also with the changes they might do it in the future. I can only hope! I can do no bag if I needed to and my husband carries nothing so the line stinks. Ill wait though if I have to get into DL :dogdance:
