Can you pick if you want to use the 2 meals for Breakfast and Dinner, or Lunch and Dinner or Breakfast and Lunch?

What is the best way to use the 2 meals per day. What do you do about your
3rd meal?

Do you get a drink with your meals? OR do you use the refillable cup to bring a drink from the hotel?

Thanks for any replies :)

You don't get 2 meals per day. You get two CS meal credits, per person, per night you stay at your resort. You get access to all your credits at the same time as soon as you check in, and you can use them in any order, for any meal, or on any day you wish.

Each meal includes a non-alcoholic beverage. Breakfast includes two beverages because there is no dessert. They substitute juice, but most reports are that any non-alcoholic beverage, including bottled beverages, can be included as the "juice"

The most cost-effective alternative suggested is to either bring your own breakfast items, use snack credits for breakfast, or purchase breakfast, possibly sharing breakfasts. Breakfast is usually less expensive than dinner or lunch.

It took us almost until the end of our first trip before we figured out that a CS breakfast was more than 1 person could comfortably eat and that going without lunch was not fun :upsidedow and that we could choose to do something different.

We ended up splitting one breakfast meal between 2 people and did the same with lunches. Our tummies were much happier and then we enjoyed our dinner choices more... :thumbsup2

Hope your trip is magical! :wizard:

You won't go hungry that's for sure. I agree, if you have fairly healthy appetites in your party then bring your own breakfast items/use snack credits and share. I brought cereal boxes last year for DD and left most of them in the room when we checked out, along with who knows how many unused credits.

If breakfast is a substantial meal for youl, then use a credit each or consider splitting a breakfast and supplementing it with a snack credit, then a light lunch and a big dinner (or the other way around, depending on your habits). You can use as many or as few credits per day as you need, as long as you don't redeem more meals than the number of guests on your KTTW card at one time. So for example, if you have 2 adults on your reservation, you can't order 3 meals in one go.

Here is what I would do.
Use 1 snack credit per person for breakfast (Main St. Bakery is a fabulous place for this).
Use a CS credit for lunch.
Use a CS credit for dinner.
Use the other snack credit somewhere during the day.
You get a drink with both CS meals.

So, just curious, do you think the two counter service meals are enough for the whole day? (My self and DD5 are not big eaters, but do enjoy snacking, Hubby on the other hand may need an extra meal)I'm sure we can swing a light breakfast at the hotel before setting out to the parks. What kind of meals are there? Is it all just burgers, hotdogs and pizza or is there other things to select from? Thanks for all the replies, YOU HAVE ALL BEEN VERY HELPFUL. :flower3:

Is there anywhere to get an inexpensive but decent breakfast? To pay out of pocket. I don't want to waste a QS credit on it. But, don't want to pay a ton for breakfast either. I'm sure on many occassions though DD and I can share a meal, so I probably can use her credits and split a meal too :)

This is what we did. Matter of fact, we usually ate one of the meals (lunch or dinner) at the resort and got fruit for dessert. We then saved that to eat at breakfast with the muffin, bagel, yogurt, or danish we got for breakfast.

It worked out and we never went hungry. Plus, those cinnamon rolls at Main Street bakery are huge that DD 13 and I were able to split those without any issue.

Hmm, Does lunch and or dinner include a dessert with the quick serv. or is dessert an additional snack credit? Thanks :)

If you and DD are not big eaters, then you will have plenty of food to share with 1 CS meal. DD and I share most of our lunch combo meals, so I end up with a few extra CS meals to use on breakfasts. I bring breakfast bars from home to eat on the bus most days, but will occasionally grab a CS breakfast from the food court. If I get the "combo meal" breakfast plus 2 pastries or rolls (2 snack credits), it feeds 4 of us - 2 big eaters - until lunchtime.

Our first trip with the DDP (in 2005) was the only trip I used 4 CS credit per meal. After throwing away lots of uneaten food, we decided to get 2-3 meals and split them between us. It also allows us to have room for snacks later in the day.

Both lunch and dinner come with dessert - no additional snack credit needed. Breakfast is the only CS meal that doesn't come with a dessert.

My husband and I split some lunches last year. We were allowed to substitute a second drink for the dessert. For us, this was a perfect amount of food.

We had a hard time enjoying the QS -too much greasy food - you can only eat hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos for so long until you just can't take it anymore - fast food every day 2 times a day was too much for us - We craved a sit down "home cooked" meal - We are retunring in August and will be using the dining plan with Table services - You get TONS of food with both the QS and TS and it is easy to share some meals.

I thought about that too, but I also enjoy sandwiches and salads as well as ribs and I have been reasearching the places that offer those too. But, I definetly see your point. I think we will still eat in at least one nice restaurant,(out of pocket, and it works out cheaper, then a meal plan of TS only!, Since its just 1 night) probably in downtown disney, at least 1 night. Maybe we will choose our 3rd day there, so that we can take a break from the QS meals. Thanks for your reply.:flower3:

There are LOTS of QS options that go beyond hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza. Check out the menus for Sunshine Seasons(EP), any of the countries at EP, Flame Tree BBQ(AK), Columbia Harbor House(MK), Cosmic Ray's(MK), Wolfgang Puck's(DTD).....those are just a few that offer a wider variety of food than your standard theme park choices:goodvibes

If they offer the free dining plan for this fall, will it include the QSDP for value resorts? Has it been included in the past or is it only for the 1ts/1qs/1s dining plan? Thanks!

The information seems to be... if/when it is released it will be QSDP for Value Resorts and Regular for Mod & Deluxe resorts. :)
