Do I need to plan out my quick serve dining plans in MK?

I am not even sure what is on the list, should I be researching what meals we will want if we are spending all day in MK?

Any suggestions on your favorites or some that are better than others.

We never plan our quick service meals. We usually end up eating closest to where we're at the moment. In the MK, Columbia Harbor House is probably our favorite quick service!

I am moving this to the dining plan board.

At the top of the dining plan board you will find a sticky thread titled "Everything you always wanted to know." In the first post you will find links to the official DDP brochures for 2010, which have restaurant lists.

I don't know why you would need to make strict plans for a counter service restaurant, since you can't make reservations. You might pick the one you think looks best, and if you want to plan not to arrive at peak mealtime so the lines might be shorter, that is likely the most planning you may want to do.

You can find links to the menus online if you want to see what type of items each restaurant serves.

I made a list with possible options for each park. One family member has food allergies, another likes to eat really healthy. So I checked out the menus and had 3-4 good options for each park that everyone would/could eat at. Because we were there in September I also noted which ones were inside so we could get a break from the heat.

I don't think you need to make a choice at this point as to where you will eat, but it is a good idea to tak a look at the restaurants available and what they have on their menu so you will have an idea which restaurant you might want to eat at. MK is not the large and you can walk easily to any of the CS restaurants. The food options vary greatly, so depending on what you like to eat, you might find you prefer one restaurant over another.

Yes, look at the CS choices in MK before you go so that when you are there you can pick out one that looks good to you that is close by.

For example, if you are in TL, Cosmic Rays is a great choice. My DM and I have shared the chicken and rib combo several times. A great use of a CS credit.

If you are near Haunted Mansion or Fantasyland, you could pick Columbia House.

By Splash or Big Thunder, Peco's Bills is a great choice.

On Main Street and in the mood of hotdogs, try Casey's

I wouldn't necessarily plan out all your counter service, but I would definitely get an idea of what's available and search the dining board a bit to find out what is good and what is not, because you don't want to end up getting an okay meal when you could get a great one or not end up with the kind of food you want, because cs restraunts differer greatly in their offerings and how good they are. ***You might also want to check the dessert offerings becuase some places just have a little prepackaged cake but others have bakery items, ice cream sundaes, milk shakes, and other good stuff***

I would definitely review menus online, especially if you have kids as kids meals can vary widely from CS to CS. It just gives you an idea of what options are available at each location.
