We were there from Aug. 31-Sept. 3 and spent 2 days at SW and 1 afternoon at Aquatica staying at Residence Inn. I'll try to break things out so they make sense.
Residence Inn - ok hotel, nice looking on the outside, I thought the room was a bit dated, we had a 2 queen suite and were able to check in early. Breakfast had a lot of choices, but it was a complete cluster-cuss in the morning! There were several youth soccer teams staying there and it was just madness, no one has any respect for personal space either, pushing right up on us as we're trying to get our breakfast. The last morning I just grabbed some bagels & cream cheese and we toasted them in our room. The pool looked nice but we never even used it! Don't know that I'd stay here again.
Sea World - loved it as always, DD was finally tall enough for Manta & Krakken and we rode both several times along with Atlantis. Saw all the shows except for Allure, it just never fit in. Favorite show was Sea Lions Tonight, was so funny! The Pets Ahoy show was very cute too. The new Penguin ride? Eh, it was ok, but would have been annoyed had we waited long, we went towards the end of the day and still waited about 20 minutes. The ride was short and the penguins were all sleeping so it was rather anticlimactic. The one-time QQ passes were NOT valid for that attraction. We did Dine With Shamu and I highly recommend, the food was plentiful and fresh, disappointed there wasn't more seafood though. Server kept beer & wine flowing, such a great deal for the price. Trainers did a great little show, was so cool to be right there. We did a lot of criss-crossing the park to see the shows and it was HOT, should have had a better plan.
Aquatica - only went because of the deal with our package, pretty much just did wave pool, lazy river and Roa's Rapids. It was Labor Day so pretty busy and lines for water slides were long and we just didn't feel like standing in line that long. Around 4 the skies opened and there was a major downpour just as we were leaving. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back, we have water parks here but if it's included at a minimal cost and you have the time, then by all means go.
Had a great time and if we lived near Orlando, we would definitely get a season pass for Sea World.
