early morning here in the BW lobby and thought I would give some info about our day one meals.
Lunch at Chefs. Service excellent. Atmosphere very nice. Food good. I had the lobster bisque, very good. Crusty bread was excellent. DH got the cheese plate which we both enjoyed immensely-- neither of us would normally order such a dish, and we both were surprised and loved it. DH had the quiche Lorraine and rated it very good. I had the salmon, also very good, but was disappointed to find the spinach side was over salted to the point of not being edible. DD had chicken strips and pasta from the kid menu, and she ate it (that says it all!). Dh had chocolate cake, excellent. I had creme brûlée, very tasteless- I was so disappointed! Overalla nice lunch, would go here again.
Dinner at Tutto. Service very good. Atmosphere nice. Food good. I had the buffalo mozzarella app, was expecting tasteless tomatoes based on other reviews, but it really was not bad! DH had minestrone, which he enjoyed, plus he enjoyed DDs mozzarella sticks (which were actually fried mozzarella balls) as well. dD did not like her pizza, which was not cooked enough in my opinion, and it was quickly whisked away and replaced with Penne Caprese, which was what DH and I had also gotten. It was a good pasta dish. I got the dessert trio, which was 2/3 excellent, 1/3 eh. DH polished off his tiramisu without offering up a bite- he said it was "done right". DD has chocolate mousse which was good. Overall an enjoyable meal, but this restaurant really needs to offer more choices, so not sure if we will return. Normally at an Italian restaurant I cannot decide between all of the choices...here I felt there wee not enough choices.
Will stop in tomorrow with more.... especially If I have trouble sleeping again! The sun is finally up-- off to breakfast at Kona!
